I still don't get it.. why are the Tickets with derailleurs?

Because even riding a singlespeed, it's way easier to remove and replace the back wheel with a derailleur, and always have the same chain tension (these guys tend to travel A LOT).

Plus Semenuk used to ride a cassette on his ticket on some slopestyle courses I think

Simply because the Ticket S don't have horizontal dropouts, it's 12x142 fixed axle and you can't ride single speed without the derailleurs which keeps the chain tight, and the rear end doesn't linked into the bottom bracket so the chainstay changes when therear suspension works

And due to the suspension platform, there is chain growth with the travel compressing, so the derailleur keeps the chain from stretching and breaking.
