At Urge, if there's a discipline that really talks to our hearts and for which we think we have expertise and legitimacy, it is for sure Enduro racing. Lets be clear straight away, we are very proud of our brand new ARCHI ENDURO R.R. ARCHI is still the name we are using because it was the first full face helmet dedicated to Enduro racing and R.R. because its evolution and we had one goal in mind: a Ready to Race helmet.
Our belief is that Enduro is the ultimate racing discipline. In its maturity it combines the speed and precision of a top gravity racer with the tactics and patience to continue at that pace through several longer stages.
We used the feedback from years of experience of EWS riders from the Canyon and Rocky Mountain Urge teams, with top riders like Fabien Barel and Flo Nicolai. Our first priority was to satisfy their needs in terms of safety. This was the starting point to create the ultimate enduro racing helmet. We then had to work hard, especially to develop a unique fiber in order to obtain a highly safe helmet while being light enough to be worn during the long racing days. The comfort, fitting and ventilation were also high on the priority wish list.
The result is here, a design fundamentally driven by the demands of top level enduro racing. This helmet is the helmet any enduro racer can wish for and it will answer all their needs and is the result of our convictions when pushing their limits.

Outer shell and EPSOur outer shell uses composite material, which is a unique blend of glass fiber (80%) and natural linen fiber (20%), mixed with a thermosetting resin. This material is meticulously laid out in order to obtain a multi-axial fibre with outstanding benefits that guarantees a better spread and diffusion of the shock waves more on the helmet than on the skull.
Our performances during the crash tests highly exceeded the legal requirements for the different norms (EN 1078, CPSC 1203, ASTM F1952, AS / NZS 2063) and outperform ABS, traditional and carbon fiber shells.
The focus was put on the chin guard in particular to obtain the best ratio between rigidity and necessary distortion to absorb impacts. The essential wide opening of the chin guard for optimal ventilation benefits from a high density polyurethane upper part. The obtaining of the ASTM F1952 norm, the only one that tests the chin guard, validates without a doubt the safety features highly sought-after.
The structure of the EPS has been designed to complete the unique features of the outer shell. Thanks to this exclusive combo, our helmet is lighter than the existing carbon top of the range models. We have created one of the safest helmets in this category with a weight under 1kg making it among the lightest.
Visor
Made of polyethylene, it is able to deform in case of an impact and exceeds the requirements of the norms. It is adjustable and fixed using aluminium screws.
Straps
The micrometric buckle is our choice for ergonomics, durability and quick use.
Rear ergonomics
A short cut of the neck aims at making more room at the rear to offer a perfect compatibility when using a backpack.
Goggle/glasses compatibilityThe wide opening aims to guarantee an optimal field of view, compatible with all goggles on the market, even the wider ones. Lateral “gripping” pads and the ergonomics of the helmet allow for a perfect position of the goggle strap.
Ventilation10 vents allow good ventilation in any circumstances, even at low speed. Ventilation on the front of the helmet is particularly unique, thanks to the specific design of the chin guard. The wide frontal vents and the cheek pads were also specifically redesigned to allow a real air flow around the ears.
Fitting and inner paddingThe inner padding is entirely detachable and washable. It was designed for optimal comfort and retention. The dual-density cheek pads were particularly elaborated to obtain a perfect fit. The one-piece pad brings excellent fit and comfort. The “bamboo treated” material used targets a triple efficiency: antibacterial, moisture wicking and hypoallergenic.
FinishThis helmet is a top of the range model that benefited of the highest attention to details in its design, to the smallest of details, and in particular in the choice of the high quality and durable materials.
MENTIONS: @urgebikeproducts
What I don't understand on this helmet or the 100% Aircraft DH helmet is the location of the side vents. It seems the designer placed them right on the path of the goggle strap.
That vent was put there so they could claim more vents and give them another reason to market a DH helmet as an enduro lid. The vent is pointless with a goggle set up.
Close that vent and it's a DH lid that weighs over 1000 grams. No longer has the word enduro attached to it and no longer has anything special to talk about.
Marketing.
Then don't buy it. However I highly doubt your whole strap will cover the vent. And various angles accounted for these vents probably do work.
And let me remind you if these were not there you would have some exceptional hearing loss thus they serve two purposes.
You can thank me when you hear the oncoming of a passing 4x4 and have time to position out of the way. Your welcome.
And spread your goggle strap out for me would ya and breath through it. Now the same lip puckering motion for some plastic lurking around.
And look at the images... the strap covers about 80% of the vent. And I don't think I've ever had an issue hearing an oncoming vehicle... it's not like it's a prius coming up on me. But then again... I can't remember the last time I encountered a 4x4 vehicle while on my bike... on a trail... least not one that would make me consider wearing a DH certified lid.
But like I said... it's me. I don't see the purpose. I won't buy it. Thousands of other people will.
If they were calling this a DH helmet I'd say... damn... 990 grams. Not too bad. But they're not... It's an "enduro" helmet which puts it up against a different class of helmet... most of which weigh 2-300 grams less and vent better.
I get it though. A lot of people will be in to this helmet.
Glad you can drop yourself down to 3rd grade personal attacks though. Good for you.
Could the helmet be better and less hyped? (oh! enduro this! enduro that! we are enduro experts! enduro!) Yeah, probably.
Also, I didn't see @David1po personally attacking you... he was trying to explain that a goggle strap is infinitely more breathable than plastic.
That makes sense.
But you must not have read his comment about blowing through the strap and the plastic very carefully...
Just my two cents.
Errrrrrrrr
"29rs are gay","looks like a session", "funk ebikes" phew that's better.
It's also lighter than this one IIRC.
I have a Down-o-matic and even though its on the heavy side and get hot, the fit and finish are top notch. The paint job and finishing touches that Urge puts on the helmet make it looks very nice IMO. I've seen a Parachute in person and in terms of looks it's nothing to get excited about.
While I think it´s a well designed and made helmet I only use it on tracks where I have to pedal uphill as well. It´s more like a CC/AM/Enduro helmet with a (decent) chinguard and it certainly feels that way. Would never use it instead of a proper dh/moto lid.
I can't say enough good things about my MET PARACHUTE.....
I really like EVERYTHING about this helmet...
I believe it's a game changer, and everyone in the helmet manufacturing business will be making similar helmets...
My TLD A1 has NOT been used since i bought my MET about 6 months ago...
I will still wear my D3 on big bike days, but for enduro/AM/or even aggressive XC ...I will only wear my MET !!!!!!
who ever decided that half lids were good enough for AM/enduro was freaking crazy...
The MET Parachute is actually really good looking IMO and vents sooo well....
I will gladly sweat a LITTLE more on a hot day for the extra protection of my fullface...but honestly, I really don't anticipate my MET being that much hotter when summer comes?
time will tell....
I can wait for TLD to get into this game....
You're basically selling a slightly better vented DH helmet... if you're on a course that you need that type of helmet... you can where a lighter weight DH helmet that'll work with neck protection. Otherwise you're using a standard MTB half shell or something like the parachute (way more vented) or the Super 2R.... detachable chin bar...
The MET is 250 grams lighter. Even with MIPS the Super 2R is also over 250 grams lighter.
But it is an interesting looking lid. I like the look of the visor, the rear neck area and the design language involved in that upper air groove.
But that wasn't really my point either way. I was making the point that I personally don't see the point in buying a lid like this for anything. If you're riding DH or riding an enduro course that you feel like you need a DH lid... where a DH lid and a neck brace. If you're riding 90% of the other courses a lighter weight better breathing enduro lid makes more sense.
This is just a vented DH lid they're calling an enduro lid because enduro is the hot ticket marketing button right now.
But who cares either way. People love to thumbs down comments that don't nut hug every item posted up so this comment will vanish soon enough.
This helmet weighs almost as much as the full-9 so why not compare it to that one? That passes...
The super2r is 300 grams lighter WITH the bar on it. 630 grams lighter with it off. Breathes better. It passes CE EN1078 and CPSC Bicycle which is what it was meant to pass.
It doesn't pass ASTM F1952 but it's not marketed as a DH helmet and wasn't intended as much... though I wouldn't be surprised to see all of that change... then that would make this helmet even more pointless than it already is.
