Remember when "endure" was called "super D" before we all fought about wheel size...
  • 14 2
I guess Multiple Stage Super D was too long of a name.
  • 5 6
@dukeneverwinter: I race enduro on my 27.5 because multi stage super D on 29 is lame sauce!

 ...bro

 650B Super Duper D?
  • 7 1
I remember Super Ds being are little different....Mass start with a sprint run to the bikes, where most of us were redlined before getting on the bike, on top of that, you would have a herd of bikes after you. If you crashed there was a good pile up potential. If you were anywhere behind 3rd or 2nd on a dusty course, things were well.... a little exciting. Overall, very little room for mistakes, definitely fun but super intense and high pressure.

did i blink and miss the 'rock gardens'?
  • 13 2
It's definitely not a World Cup or even EWS track, but it's not really a sleepy little track either. Lots of weird step downs of pavers and roots into soft, deep pumice. Really, really fun trail.
  • 5 2
they're hidden by all those roots

 @scvkurt03: pavers get the bozak

Everything always looks smaller on gopro

@ryansimonovich: Ironically, thats also the title of my next porno

Follow Me is a blast. I call it Mini Bullet as it is smaller rock gardens, smaller drops etc. But the same sort of terrain and length.

 the gravel on the road

Its Mammoth. Don't worry, there are Plenty of rocks and roots. Here camera isn't shaking like mad for no reason. If you've never been to Mammoth, the soil is like loose moon dust and beach sand on top of a continuous rock garden. You dont really see the rocks because they are hiding just below the surface of deep and dusty pumice and sand. The terrain is really loose and unpredictable, like surfing your bike down a sand dune with huge rocks hidden everywhere just below the surface. That's why they have so many sections with those pavers, to create a stable corner and keep the soil/sand/pumice from just washing away completely.

It was a while back now but I'm super bummed on the lack of coverage from Collegiate MTB Nats. Was there a story I missed by chance?
  • 3 1
Yeah, weird. They covered collegiate nats year before last i remember

Highly doubt I could keep up but I'd follow that hottie anywhere That was awesome. I wonder if she likes vans...
  • 7 0
Probably not your 1972 Dodge Tradesman 200 with the heart-shaped bubble windows and the Thor mural you had done in Tijuana.
  • 1 0
@Marquis: Thanks for posting that link - I must have missed that article. Much respect to Lauren and her attitude, and for living in a car on the streets of Hollywood as a teenager. I did that too. I'm a new fan. Or maybe her oldest fan.
  • 2 0
@Marquis: So you're telling me there's a chance! Joking, and hopefully it's obvious. I took it for granted everybody knew she had a rad van. And she happened to be riding "Follow me" but that's what I get for using Coen Brothers humor on a Farrelly brothers crowd.
  • 3 0
@kingsx: Both the van and Follow Me comments are pretty subtle. I got the van reference, but wasn't sure that others did, so I posted the link. But the Follow Me reference went too deep for me, even though I live in SoCal and ride & ski at Mammoth often enough to know. You're asking a lot from a Pick a Wheel Size and Be a Dick About It crowd, but full props for trying.

@Marquis: What's funny is that some fool went through this thread and neg-propped all the benign positive remarks. TF is the matter with people?
  • 1 1
@endlessblockades, @Marquis: Yeah, tough crowd. Might be the same person I offended by treating "objects like women". As if I would ever DREAM of letting her in my van!
  • 6 8
Did she really just say 'ratchet'? Oh well, she's cute and fast. Razz
  • 1 3
Mannnnnn I wish that was my girlfriend!!
