Video: Vertigo and Wolf watching in Italy

Alta Via Sendiero dei Alpini option

You can see wolves in Liguria, Italy, you also get amazing singletrack. Both have their virtues. So the plan was to see how much better it is to ride than to sit around and watch wildlife. At least that was the plan - to ride one of the best sections of trail in Italy, the Alta Via from a mountain refuge, 50Km to the sea. Hitting the trail a little too early in the year and finding its highest part still blocked by snow turned this epic ride into an epic confrontation with vertigo....

I have ridden the first half of this trail last May. It's actually much steeper and higher (and scarier) than the vid shows. Rivierabike took me and my friends there with their guided tours.

What's so scary about falling of cliffs? It's just the landing part that's sketchy and even then all you have to do is miss the ground...
