 That video was great. Has anyone used it and have an opinion? I currently made little humps on my chainstay using mastic tape and spaced them out evenly... any better than that solution?

 I did the same (humps are closed-cell foam) and have the same question. Happy to support a small business if their product is better than my home-brew version!

 @KK11: Good call; the mastic tape humps cost marginally more but are WAY more effective at quieting slap IMO.

 Yeah they're really good, the bumps are air filled and made my bike dead silent. Also it was super easy to apply and relatively pretty damn cheap.

 Great product, definitely recommend. I replaced the stock protection on my Norco Sight and it quieted the ride tremendously.

 I used to be all in on the mastic solutions but I think this is probably the best possible product for reducing chain slap. It's a very well though out riff on the mastic humps that a lot of WC teams were using.

The advantage over mastic is the surface material is less gummy on your chain and the outer surface is less adhesive for other stuff to stick to it. Pretty much exactly the same noise-damping level as a mastic/foam hump combination. Looks a lot tidier than mastic too (although not quite as nice as some of the OEM options in my opinion).

 Cut out squares with some weather stripping for the humps and sandwiched between two pieces of mastic tape. Works great and looks good, like the VHS just humps not as tall.

 This stuff worked really well. I ran it on a Ti hardtail which was super tinny sounding. It became the quietest bike in the fleet.

 I use VHS on my Orbea Rallon. Does an amazing job managing noise, and much easier to install / more durable than home made solutions. 10/10 would reccomend.

 i use one from a nukeproof mega, fits pretty sweet on a mondraker foxy and after having mastic tape for years and trying STFU bike ill never not use one of these ribbed ones now

 EVA rubber squares under 50mm heat shrink. Been on for 4yrs, nice and quiet.

 I just moved to VHC from using the mastic tape trick. Sadly I never got the results I wanted from the mastic tape and VHS looks way cleaner

 I've had it on my Banshee Spitfire V2 for a year or so and it allows me to focus on all the other noises the bike makes besides chainslap. Unsure if this was a feature I wanted.

 Use it on all my bikes. It really is an excellent product. Yes, it's not 2 dollar bodge, but it looks neat and does exactly what it says it does.

 I really like that someone has made this a proper solution, however $35!!! and you only get 350mm, thats $100 per metre, not to mention this shouldn't even need to exist if frame makes did a proper job. I just use 3M mastic tape which is only about £10 a metre, just cut a few smaller bits and space them out to create the lumps then stretch a big strip over them all to create a seamless padded protector, sticks like sh*t to a shovel too, 3 seasons and still going strong for me.

 I have one on my park bike and if applied properly it is very quiet. You can hear the chain slapping only on important impacts such as casing or dropping to flat, when it hits the seat stay too.

 I use the VHS on my Titan. I replaced the stock protection and found that it covers more of the chain stay, quiets chain slap down considerably, and cleans up easy. If you like one tidy solution, this is a great option.

 @ryetoast: I completely understand. I hear my chain smacking my bash guard on the bottom of the fromt sprocket. A World Cup mechanic said they sometimes use felt tape or velcro on that to quiet it. Did not help mine. And it ripped the tape of pretty quick too.

I never realized that the quieting effect of these raised bump stops for chain slap would make me hear all the other shit my bike does so clearly.

 Just go buy some dense weatherstripping foam from your hardware store, stick it on and cinch it down with a couple zip ties to keep it in place, boom you have the same thing. There’s no need to pay $35 for this.

 @nobrain: I just applied some heat and it slowly peeled off. I used some rubbing alcohol to clear any residue.

 I cut a strip out of an old tire and then wrapped it with self fusing silicone tape. Worked really good, but not quite as nice looking as this stuff. Nice thing about the self fusing tape is that it doesn't leave any adhesive mess when you take it off.

 I've got on my Marin Alpine Trail 7 and rate it! Easy to cut and installation was doddle.

 @Hairymountainbeast: same here. Cut a section of knobs out of an old tire about the length of the chainstay and used E600 glue to fasten it to my clear wrapped chainstay protector and haven’t messed with it since. This was years ago!

 over 2 years now with the original VHS. No problems. took off the oem rubber, a wipe down of alcohol and stuck on the VHS.

 How well do these stay on? $35 seems like 2 times what this “should” cost, but if it actually stays put for the life of the bike then I guess it’s worth it.

 I've been running the VHS tape for a while now and it's still not showing any signs of peeling! I'd recommend it!

 Mine is running strong after 2 years of heavy abuse including trail riding, shuttle laps and park days. No issues with durability at all.

 Having just removed some from a frame I was selling I can safely say the glue on this stuff is no joke. (Applied over invisiframe after a good rub down with isopropyl)

 Very. The stick appears to be provided by good old 3M VHB, friend of panicked engineers everywhere. Need to put a thing on a thing, yesterday? Is the thing going to be violently shaken? Exposed to alarming temperatures? Pressure washed? No problem.

 will this stuff stick over the existing rubber crap that comes on most frames or do you have to peel that stuff off first? i think my pivot has a pretty deep channel once the stock rubber is removed

 I tried STFU on 2 bikes... you put 2 on the chainstay and the one furthest back on the chainstay would always end up falling into the wheel spokes and breaking the STFU, happened on both my bikes. You have to constantly check the zip ties holding them.

 @caldog: same experience here. The bigger stfu would flex into the spokes under heavy repeat compressions. The baseball card in the spokes sound is pretty cool, but I was hoping the stfu would last more than 1 ride.

 I ordered a STFU set, but it never arrived, as the factory made some mistake with my address, and it took months to get my money back.

 Even with stfu the slap is pretty bad. Just installed a chainguide with a lower pulley, so hoping that helps. Might get some of this stuff if the slap isn't gone after that.

 I use only the front (smaller) STFU thing on a Giant Reign and it has been working very well for over a year. Setting it up not to rub both loaded and unloaded was a bit of a pain though.

 Stfu sucks. Took like 3 months to get and immediately sucked into my spokes on every ride. There's a reason there's no review section on their website. They sent me a replacement model with the end caps but had the same issue. However I've had luck installing only one piece in the middle of the chainstay. Installing both in the suggested spots just doesn't work for either of my bikes.

 Hey there BC bike, we are manufactured in Taiwan, We use shipping out of Hong Kong to help reduce import charges and shipping costs for world wide shipping. We actively avoid manufacturing in china.
That being said plenty high end products you use will be manufactured there, the assumtion that china = cheap is fair but untrue if you want to build good quality products, for example Santa Cruz frames are made in chain.

 Tried it but the adhesive is only good on bare paint or frame wrap. If you're wanting to put this on top of your oem protector you're going to have to homebrew something that actually sticks.

 Hey, Yeah we recomend pulling off your existing OEM protector. mostly due to pre contamination from your chain

 that's the point, to replace that oem protector! worth it - I peeled mine off and kept it for worst case scenario, wouldn't take more than a little spray adhesive to put it back on if my VHS tape gets ruined and the world ends so I can't buy a new roll
