Video: 6 Minutes of Chaos from the Tea & Biscuits Merseyside Segment

Apr 4, 2020
by James McKnight

Over six minutes of absolute chaos from the Merseyside section of Tea & Biscuits — the Very British Mountain Bike Film by Caldwell Visuals and Misspent Summers.

Hats off (but helmets on, kids) to the riders who risked life and limb in filming arguably one of the rowdiest mountain bike film sections ever.

Hucks, booby traps, and heavy slams included.

Big up Tommy C (Caldwell Visuals) for his excellent work on making the film and to Nukeproof Bikes and Hope Technology for the support.

This is what Tommy had to say about the section:

"Here it is, the crowd favourite... the balls out and chaotic Merseyside segment of Tea & Biscuits. Core community and bike riding at its purest with a crew you've probably never heard of. But that doesn't matter. These guys are pure entertainment and have built the local scene themselves. Not to mention willingly sending anything to put a smile on your faces. These happen to be my local trails so I'm a little biased. This will probably be my favourite film section ever." — therealtommyc

Thanks to everyone involved.

Misspent Summers

Pagey pulled it right out there, I was hoping something good would happen for poor Wolf, he was getting battered on that mad hardtail

Think he’s snapped that Vitus yet? Blown up the shock maybe?

Enjoyed Tea & Biscuits, but IMO this segment was the only one up to the British Pie series level.
Top notch

The other ones were great, but a little too much official brand shredit vibe

A shitty hardtail, a dh bike, an e-bike, and everything in between. What a crew!

Your English soil looks so, so, soft and non-threatening to crash in. (I live and ride in a land of rattlesnakes and vicious, craggy limestone).

I half expected the Charmin' Bear (mascot of an American toilet paper company) to poke out from behind a tree and endorse the softness of the loam or whatever that stuff those guys were riding on.

Great video, though.

@James McKnight. There's a name I haven't seen since the Dirt days, are you working regularly for PB now?

@MisspentSummers: Cool, all the best with it, I always enjoyed your write ups of various Alpine riding spots for Dirt.

This is amazing! Love the sense of community and the 'well lets just give that a go then' approach.

See? He said Vie-tus; not Vee-tus, and he's British. Or, do I need to have my hearing checked?

It’s the best thing I’ve ever seen. The lad on the stolen jump bike clearly won man of that match. I don’t know if it’s actually stollen it’s just every time I hear that accent, I automatically do a pocket check to make sure I’ve still got my phone and wallet so I’m going to assume it is Wink . Kade Edwards section was incredible as well, I’d love to see him get involved with what Ruben and Garret burns are doing on the full suspension Bmx’s.

@charlief5: Nope that’s not all I said, I also said it was the best thing I’ve ever seen. I was clearly joking, if I thought it was going to make you cry I wouldn’t have posted it.
  • 1 0
@thenotoriousmic: not crying lad just feel your putting a bad name on my friends who actually earn there shit, if you liked the film I’m glad we all bled for it hha

@charlief5: Fair enough dude, I thought it was obvious I was only joking around but yeah you all seem like top bunch of lads and it really is the best video segment I’ve seen.
