Video & Race Report: Eastern States Cup Stan's Enduro #3 - Glen Park, Pennsylvania

Jun 8, 2022
by Eastern States Cup

Rhododendron, road gaps and rocks, that's Pennsylvania's Glen Park in a nutshell. This venue has become a favorite over the years and for good reason, there's a whole lot of fun packed into this 500' vertical hill. The Pocono Bike Club are great hosts, switching the stages up a bit each year to keep things fresh, as well as maintaining this hidden gem of a trail network. They laid out five challenging and diverse stages for us this year with some reworked sections to keep racers on their toes. Enough about how awesome this place is, keep scrolling to see what went down this weekend in Stroudsburg.

photo
Beautiful weather on tap for race day with temps in the 70's and plenty of sunshine, a stark difference from the sweat fests we endured here the past couple years.

photo
John Foody getting limbered up during the riders meeting, he would finish fifth in the 30-39 class.

photo
Ethan Siegel opts for a different kind of warm up on the jumps behind the ball field, he rounded out the GT U15 class top three.

photo
Five stages this weekend means five pedal transfers to the top of Glen Park. The Fox Seatpost Climbers Challenge was contested on the first transfer of the day while legs were still fresh.

photo
Here are your speediest pedalers from each class, including fastest amateur Sebastian Giraldo who took home a fresh Fox Transfer dropper post for his efforts.

photo
Lucas Dedora kicks off his day with some fresh air, he would finish P8 in the U20 class.

photo
Luke Mello finds the flow on Stage 1, despite only winning one stage his average speed kept him afloat, taking the U20 win by just over three seconds.

photo
Flat Tire Defender Super Stage 1 winners from each class, including fastest amateurs Lucas Dedora and Danielle Cervasio.

photo
Kalen Griffin amongst the ferns, she would finish up fourth in the Pro ladies class.

photo
P6 for Pro men's class racer Kory Nagy this weekend, as he sets the landing gear down on the fast and flowy Stage 3.

photo
Jeremy Fahey soars through the jungle to take fourth place in the 40-49 men's class.

photo
30-39 men's class winner Chris Mari has been racing with us since the beginning, and still has the speed to lay down some heaters.

photo
There are multiple line options here but Tim Pierce prefers racking up frequent flyer miles, he would slot into P7 for the 40-49 men.

photo
Garrett Johnson loves the Pennsylvania foliage so much he decided to bring some home.

photo
Road gapping with Sam Poirier. He would land in ninth place, his second top ten of the year after moving up to the Pro men's class.

photo
Ridge Larick sends the most direct line at the top of Stage 4, he would finish runner up for the 21-29 men.

photo
Hats off to the Pocono Bike Club for keeping the corners sculpted so second place U20 racer Ethan Zysman can keep the fun flowing.

photo
They reworked the entrance to the infamous chute at the bottom of Stage 4 this year and the success rate was much higher. Shannon Phelps cleans it with ease, finishing second in the Amateur women's class.

Creepy creatures at the bottom of Stage 4.

photo
Pennsylvania has tech too! Sammy Hedlund blasts through the chunky Stage 5 rock garden on his way to fourth place for the Pro men.

photo
40-49 men's class runner up Greg Jackson keeps eyes up as his bike careens through the rocks.

photo
First race with the Pro ladies and Maddy Doiron is already doing great things, third place on the day with two stage wins.

photo
Second place for Pro women's class racer Mia Migliorino, matching her results from the first two races of 2022. She's definitely hunting that top step, and capable of landing on it.

photo
Two races, two wins this season for Hannah Harrington as she lead the Pro Women by over 36 seconds with a trio of stage wins. "Glen park gave us a couple beautiful days, perfect conditions, and super fun stages. I am psyched to get to race here again this year and grateful to ride and race with such wonderful people! 10/10, all around."

photo
Pro Women: 5th - Laura Slavin, 3rd - Maddy Doirin, 1st - Hannah Harrington, 2nd - Mia Migliorino, 4th - Kalen Griffin

photo
Mark Gilbert has moved up to the Pro men's class this year and is right up to speed, rounding out the top three.

photo
Second place for Adrian Hayden and his best Pro result yet, only a matter of time before all the pieces fall into place and he takes the W.

photo
Adam Morse feels right at home in the rhododendron jungle that is Glen Park, winning every Maxxis ESC race here with the exception of last year when Richie Rude edged him out. He was able to take back the crown this weekend with a winning margin of 14 seconds and a clean sweep of stage wins. "What can I say, I love Glen park. When the schedule gets released each year, this is the first venue I look for and make sure my calendar is clear! The course layout is always a little different year to year, but always fun to race and ride. Buzzing from all the great racing and cool to see a few generations of riders spread across the podium."

Pro Men: 5th - Jason Memmelaar, 3rd - Mark Gilbert, 1st - Adam Morse, 2nd - Adrian Hayden, 4th - Sammy Hedlund

We're out of here! Huge thank you to the folks at the Pocono Bike Club for being such gracious hosts and all the racers who make these weekends such a blast. We'll see DH racers back in action this weekend at Jiminy Peak (check out the course preview) before we head North to Sugarloaf for another Kask Showdown weekend later this month. See you there!
