Video: Andrew Taylor Finishes off his Ultimate 48 State Road Trip with New Mexico & Arizona

New Mexico

From Texas, I made my way into New Mexico to meet up with Jake Rehfeild and Kendall Weingardt from Heart and Soul Racing out of Albuquerque. Our first ride was in the Sandia Foothills and from there Jake and I rode the jumps at the North Valley Bike park. To finish off my time in New Mexico I headed a bit North to the Galisteo Basin Preserve with Tim Fowler and Robby Medeiros.

Arizona

Arizona marks the 48th State on my road trip and what a journey it has been! With scenic views and world class mountain biking trails AZ was the perfect place to end the adventure. Thanks to Steve from Hardtail Party and Derek Fetko for making this final State so unforgettable.

It's been nearly three years since I started this whole life on the road thing with my first big trip up to Alaska in an old school bus. As I was finishing up the lower 48 it just seemed natural to plan a trip to Hawaii to complete a goal of mine to ride in all 50 States, so thats exactly what I did. I made my way over to Maui to ride with new and old friends in one of the most epic places I've ever been and it was no short of solid riding and good times. Stay tuned from the final episode from Hawaii dropping soon. You can follow the adventure through my Instagram & Youtube channel.

Cheers!

To bad there was snow in ABQ, You missed an awesome ride out back Tunnel/Otero. When it's wet out, it is slick as snot on the climb. The downs are super fast flowy, with sweet hits, just an awesome ride.

Yeah it was a bit of a bummer, I was really looking forward to riding the jumps in Santa Fe but everything was covered. I’m hoping to eventually make it back out that way. I hear Angel Fire is another must hit I’m NM as well.

I second that...Cedro peak is always fun as well. So much great riding in that area...Santa Fe as well. Missing it sometimes without the snow.

@fumando: I definitely have to make it back. It’s a beautiful State you guys have!

@AndrewTaylor: Yeah, for sure do Angel Fire. Also South Boundary up there if you get a chance - you can shuttle it. Also try to shuttle the trails with friends on the backside of the Sandia Mountains outside of Albuquerque. Those trails have some of the best rock-strewn, techy singletrack anywhere.

So much quality riding in New Mexico, Definitely best to go in June or July to make sure that Winsor is rideable. Galisteo is definitely cool with some fun rock rolls, but Glorietta is next level. La Tierra jump line and "free ride" zone are also awesome. Then, of course, there's Angelfire. We try to get out that way a couple of times a year and always find new stuff to ride.

I'm moving to ABQ/Sandia park from Sedona, and loved seeing both areas in the videos. I'll need to hit these guys up in New Mexico to figure out where to ride.

Thanks for the project

So which states did you miss because last I checked there was 50?
  • 3 0
Probably Alaska and Hawaii. Its hard to drive to Hawaii, OK impossible...but the drive to Alaska through Canada would be a great video by itself.
  • 3 0
He did all 50. Read the end of the post.
