Video: Andrew Taylor Visits Ohio, New York & Vermont - AT's Ultimate 48 State Road Trip

Ohio

From Kentucky, I made my way North to Ohio where I met up with Zach Overholt, Tom Holaday and Shane Garan for a ride out at Ceaser Creek State Park. From there, Tom and I hit up the the Lebanon Bike Park before making my way up to Cleveland to hit up Ray's Indoor Mountain Bike Park.

New York

From Ohio, I made my way up to Buffalo New York to pick up Jeff Watts. After a quick stop by Niagra Falls, we made our way over to meet up with Bub Crumlish at the Union Trails. Bub linked us up with his buddy John from Rochester, who helped us out by setting up a session with one of the biggest crews so far on my trip. From Rochester, we made our way up into the Adirondacks to hit up the trail Poor Man's Downhill before making our way to Vermont.

Vermont

Vermont is the 24th state and marks the half way point of my road trip and what a way to enter the state. From New York, Jeff Watts and I took an early morning ferry ride across Lake Champlain and pinned it straight for the Kingdom Trails in East Burke. This is a place we were both really looking forward to riding and it definitely didn't disappoint.

The next states up are Maine, New Hampshire & Massachusetts. You can follow the adventure through my Instagram & Youtube channel with a new video every week.

Cheers from the road!

Met him at Mountain Creek closing weekend, super nice guy. Definitely missed out on some epic stuff in Vermont and New York though, pretty much drove straight by a lot of my all time favorite riding riding spots.

If there's a down-side to having to hit 48 states, that's probably it. Can't spend too much time in one area.

Exactly. It's a shame when people drive straight across Vermont, passing by hundreds of miles of amazing, unique, diverse trail systems, only to ride the three most popular Kingdon Trails tracks. By the fall, these trails are pretty blown out from a summer of abuse, and not even at their prime.

@yupstate: exactly! It’s s blessing and curse at the same time. It’ll be about a year on the road and you could easily take three more and still not hit everything haha

Good times at Mountain Creek! I wish I had endless time to hit everything but I’m stoked on what I did get to ride. Such a cool part of the States up there!

@H2o1199: Any rec's for good trail networks in VT south of KT (i.e.closer to RI)?

@tgalster: trailforks -- too many to name

@tgalster: Perry Hill is one of my favs in the Northeast. I hear Cady Hill is good also and it's only about half hour away. Milstone Quarry is amazing. Also, I've heard that Killington is one of the better bike parks in the country but I haven't been yet.

The three T's : Troll Stroll, Tap 'n Die, Tody's Tour. All three in a row, climbing back out on Burrington Bench each time, that's The Trifecta. KTVT!

 Jeff's a badass rider. Awesome!

Right?! I’m hoping I can ride half as good as him at that age!

To be fair, if he was going to hit all the good riding Vermont has to offer he would be here for the better part of a month, and that’s just the legal trails!

Amazing. Never thought I'd see Poor Man's Downhill in a featured video... anywhere. Was there a few years ago with some buddies riding Whiteface. The caretaker (forgot his name) of Whiteface's mountain bike park told us about this trail. He shuttlesd us to the top and we rode down with his dog, Chance. If you're reading this caretaker, say hi to Chance and thank you for the hospitality!

Correction : Trance is the dog's name and Mike is his dad.

Poor Man's is fast and fun!

@mashira: Nice catch and thanks. Trance is a full on trail dog and works as a guide at Whiteface Mountain Bike Park in the summer and at the Bootleg Canyon Mountain Bike Park in the winter. And you are welcome, but we love turning others on to killer rides.

Since I’m doing a video a week I’m a little ahead now and just recently made my way through Virginia and rode Stokesville and Carvins Cove. Stoked on the riding I got to do there!

@AndrewTaylor: Aw man wish I had been able to catch you! Stokesville is great, I've camped and ridden there a few times. Need to check our Carvins Cove. Thanks for putting out the great content man!
