Video: At Home with World Cup DH Racer Jack Reading

Feb 29, 2020
by Jonny Thompson

What does it take to be one of the fastest downhillers on the planet? Commitment, dedication and support.

We talk to Jack Reading and his dad in the lead up to this race season to find out how Jack balanced his education and sporting goals throughout his life and how he's got to where he is today through hard work and commitment.

Jack came to us last year and fully immersed himself in our training program and we've given him the same support any of our subscribers get. We aren't PT's, Trainers or on-bike coaches that offer a program on the side to make a quick dollar. This is our only thing and we take it very seriously. You wouldn't hire a tennis coach who also coaches golf, would you? Our dedication means we can take the time needed to produce and deliver the best training for off-road bike sports athletes available. And better yet, at a price that is impossible to match for the service we provide.

If you are considering a Fit4Racing program you can follow the exact one Jack and our other pros are following, all of which can be done from day 1 at your local gym. We film each and every workout and movement so you know exactly how to stay safe and get the best form the program. You can access the workouts directly on the website as soon as you sign and tests are sent to your email. Sign up with no contracts and see how great Fit4Racing can be for you.

This was the first time I've heard of him around 10y ago. I was super impressed by his riding and it definitely helped me get over my fear of wet roots.

This has been a paid advertisement from fit4racing. Views expressed in content may not represent that of pink bike or their affiliates but they desperately need money for donuts and bike parts.

Jk though. The video was great. You seem like you're putting in the time jack, and honoring your the values your father instilled in you. I'll be watching this season best of luck

I would hire the most knowledgeable trainers. It's true, sport specific trainers CAN have more transferable knowledge, but it's not a given. Best of luck to the young man, though.

Nice lad most of the time.
Often takes the banter from other racers too.

Career to fall back on so some hobby to have, running his own WC team the last few years. Not a work ethic that many have.

Good luck in 2020 on the 2929. Smile

Jack has always been the dark horse. Very inspiring video, I’d wish you all the luck but it seems that your hard work would trump any of it. Go get em this year man!

That dude when he's doing the hour of pain workout. Sheesh. Jack has a high tolerance for suffering.

He takes the extra step.....he makes everyone he meets endure pain and suffering too.

@watchmen: sat next to him on the bus at Innerleithen a few years back. He was the fastest there, I was one of the slowest. He couldn’t have been more friendly and good natured. Top lad!
