Ben Cathro and Thibault Laly check out the new (old?!) track at Fort William.
Pinkbike Racing is supported by Continental, Santa Cruz Bicycles, Shimano, Reserve Wheels, Five Ten, Deity, Bluegrass, Dharco, Ohlins, Outside Magazine, Swatch & Cushcore.
@MikeyMT: Damn. I've been thinking about subscribing to BETA. Hopefully the digital content will stick around. I'd like to get more long form journal style articles about mountain biking.
@MikeyMT: OMG i f*ckin called this shit because this is exactly what happened to a bunch of action sports outlets, particularly within the Transworld family, after they were purchased by some mega huge out of touch venture capitalist vulture company.
And then Ride BMX was not allowed access to any of the content they spent years curating and couldn't buy out the platform, and had to start a brand new platform, OurBMX, from the ground up.
This shit is real. Obviously they're not gonna shut down PinkBike as it is but they're gonna go over the smaller platforms with a fine tooth comb and cut ANY 'excess expenses' possible in order to please the people up top. How many f*ckin times does this have to happen for people to realize its a f*ckin trap man
@Evo6: unfortunately kids nowadays have short attention spans and just want videos, pics, snaps, etc. There's not a huge demand for long-form journalism
The run in to the drop out of the woods looks sketchy. That drop is bigger than it looks on camera. I've stood on top of it but didn't have the stones to hit it
@tremeer023: The big doon has never been open for public use (that obviously doesn't mean that people haven't done it regardless). It has been used in a BDS iirc, but not SDA.
So wild. A track that's fast and flowy, but only for a bit before turning into total chunk... Then back to high speed for the finish. This is my kind of trail.
@Evo6: nah it's the Pinkbike team, but Outside and the sponsors were a big part of helping make it happen so we went with a design that incorporates everyone's colours: red (Pinkbike), orange (Continental), and yellow (Outside & Ohlins). Also nice that Santa Cruz could make matching bikes.
