 I am always late to the party due to Cameron not telling us, his parents, about this crash stuff. I have watched him crash for almost 30 years, and regarding some of the comments in this article as to why he does it , it's simple, he has an Evil Knievel type personality. I remember 1974 when I was a young guy, being in Twin Falls, Idaho watching Evil Knievel as he tried to jump the Snake River Canyon. It did not end well. Cameron has an Evil Knievel persona, but he is more talented than Evil in his respective sport. Evil crashed about every jump, but he did it anyway. Thank God Cameron only crashes now and then. One of Cameron's early grade school teachers said that Cameron is going to jump off a cliff no matter what you say or do, so it's just that you have to guide him to the right cliff.

 I... can't see the point of this project. The risk vs. reward tradeoff here seems lousy, and that's being generous... On the flipside, if this is who he is (and I think we've established that at this point...), then so be it. Hope you stay healthy and someday find peace in dialing it back.

 @shredddr: Thats my perspective as well. Rampage I get it...risk it all no doubt as the payoff is there. This seems kinda like that Mammoth thing he did a couple years ago. We all watched the 12 second clip of Kyle following him but nobody has ever talked about that since.

Stay safe Cam - the flip in Rad Company (your first shot of the Utah segment when you were on Hyper still) is IMO the sickest thing you've ever done.

 Everytime I see some rider taking their family to Rampage it makes me cringe. It is like buying your alcoholic friend a bottle of Whiskey. Oh it can go really wrong but look how happy we made him!

 @MikeyMT: yeah, but, when you've grown up riding bikes for a living, you don't necessarily have a lot of transferable skills... I'd bet he enjoys the challenge too, it's what got him here in the first place. And there are plenty of more dangerous jobs done by people with families. Maybe, if it works for him, that's ok?

 There are some people in this world that don't stop at dreaming because if they stop there, they might as well give up on life. Some people have a fire inside that most people will never understand and that is what keeps them going in life. The people in their life who surround them understand that, that's why they are in their life in the first place. Would you say the same about the top DH guys that risk life and limb for nothing more than to beat the clock... If it weren't for people like Zink, there wouldn't be heros and legends, they would just be you or me....

 @jasminov: pushing limits have many faces, like plastic surgery. For now, quite amazingly Jennifer Aniston is still doing fine. And Cam is kind of in her league. Ultimately I don’t care much and wish him all the best of achievements and health. Even if he takes his riding to Kylie Minogue’s current beauty level...

That said I think the scientists at the lab may be slightly intimidated by Cam when he show's up to do his thing for science, and the boys at the Large Hadron Collider may frown when he backflips the most recent particle collision, but hey anything to help others yes?

Can you imagine what a billionaire could do if he actually cared about people, or a drug company that wanted to cure people, not just mask their symptoms. The folks in Hong Kong right now are pushing the limits, risking life and limb, where do you draw the line for stupidity, just mountain biking, or all sports that you consider clown shows?

All I am saying is he is pushing limits, how he lives is life is up to him. I would not judge your life nor expect you to judge mine, as we are all lacking in some aspect of life. It's like watching a horror movie, not something I enjoy doing, having all that blood and violence in my head, but I don't condemn others for their lack of humanity by watching them, that is their path. Don't support Cam in his crazy quest that's fine, but at least try not to fill that void with negative energy that does no one, especially yourself, any good at all.

What they could achieve in terms of improving many lives compared to Zink not killing himself accidentally is insane. It pales into insignificance that this guy is risking death while entertaining a few people.

Did you read the post? I am not sure you understood what I was saying. The context was people pushing the limits, not comparing those disciplines, or did you just read the one scentence?

 @BenPea: Zink risking life and limb is his choice, greed is something we all suffer for. But we are complicit, we just sit here riding our bikes, commenting on this forum like it means something. So that is why I don't condemn Cam for his choices, it's not like we are all out there trying to change anything are we?

Companies and individuals read these forums and try to understand what happens out on the trails. Knowing what people value and want is the best way to sell things to them and know what to perform to get the most views and attention. If we as riders and consumers draw a line and stop supporting clown shows then guess what, the market for clowns dies and people stop risking their lives for money because it is no longer valued. We the consumers have the power to control the market.

Zink and other riders are walking billboards, they are a vehicle for companies to advertise and sell products to a market.

 @Bomadics: I was trying to be optimistic! I usually fall into the "we're all f***ed" mindset but that doom and gloom doesn't exactly inspire people to try and fix anything. My intention was not to say stop supporting sport events but to change how we react to them and what we expect out of them.
