I only started hearing about Ben's videos this season when Pinkbike started showing them, but I'm already a huge fan. Been taking some of the track and riding tips from the WC vids and applying them to my own trail riding and already seeing little bits of improvement here and there. Really appreciate all the work Ben, keep it up!
I was watching it at my desk during my lunch break and had to explain my random outburst of "oooohhhhhh" to the rest of the office. That looked vile. Clipped in to the end too.
I love watching these videos because you can really get a sense of just how hard this course really is. When you see the Pros come flying through that stuff just dancing off the top of the rocks it looks easy. But when you see real riders actually struggling with sections it puts it into perspective.
One cool thing I experienced was seeing the top level WC riders race on my local mountain, Mountain Creek, at the PRO GRT. When you see these guys rip the same trails you ride it makes you realize just how good they are. They fly through certain sections on lines and at speeds I would never consider. Sections of certain rock gardens that I slowly pick my way through the Pros would just blast down riding on the tops of the rocks. It was really cool.
hey Ben, i'd love to hit like on your vids, but i don't do no fookin facebook. your commentary is the best. really appreciated. can i buy those cathrovision stickers. do you have any other swag for sale. we need to know
So we got too wait till tomorrow for A practice? Also how come everyone asks if a crashed rider is OK, before the rider has a chance too know if they are OK?
I flag on a MX track, so I see a lot of crashes. You still get useful information to assess the severity and type of injury. No response, not moving = its bad. No response, moving - might be bad, might not. "I'm not sure" = likely not severe. "Yup" or a string of profanities but standing up = not much to worry about besides keeping the track clear.
