Riding chainless is fun every now and then. Just lobbing your chain into the undergrowth is a dick move though. That was more the point I was making. To be fair, you can't actually see where he's chucking it in the vid, but still it looks very much like he's just lobbing it into the nearest bush instead of into his van or whatever. Fuck people who chuck litter on trails. Those people are pricks.

The chain was shortly retrieved from the bush before leaving, taken home, given a nice bubble bath and a wax. The chain is now being cared for by an adoption agency, it has had an abusive life but it well on the way to recovery.

Dropped a lucosade bottle on the way out though and that’s still there.

In all honesty his riding was quite good, however the videography made me quit watching halfway through, I had to tilt my phone back and forth in order to see what was going on, this really hurt my eyes to watch.

Taking the drivetrain off for a few shuttle laps every now and then is as close to a religious experience as I've ever gotten. Absolute silence and an overwhelming sense of speed. Love it.

It amazes me how many people ride without basic tools. Stupid. Why let a broken chain or flat early in the ride ruin the ride? Carry some tools people. A simple multi-tool, master link, pump, and tube will fix 90% of problems on the trail. Throw in a few zip ties and still all together weigh under a pound if you are a weight weenie. Its not rocket science.

He's not on a trail. He's not pedalling up anything. I do not want to carry that shit on my bike especially if I'm hitting jumps. Leave it in the truck or something. There's a big difference between what he's riding and what you're probably riding. He's not stupid, he's just biking. Chill out, fuck a chain.

Back when i didn't have a freecoaster on my bmx i actually welcomed a broken chain to goof off and do weird stuff you couldn't do with a chain. It is ok to just have fun sometimes you know, not everyone is going for max performance all the time
