Video: One Hot and Hairy Ride

May 13, 2015
by Charge Bikes

Here's the new Charge Cooker 27+ being put through its paces by Charge ambassador and all round action man Rob Jarman. Follow Rob as he shows us what a well ridden bike can do, taking on everything from forests to farmyards. Beware, at times it gets pretty hairy.

Very creative. It was a nice change of pace from the stock edits we see here.
  • + 7
That moment you burst out laughing in class and everyone goes silent and turns to you. Yeah, not like the usual edits on PB.

  • + 32
 His hair has MIPS.

The most impressive part was being able to ride one handed while choking a chicken.
  • + 3
I just LOL'd in the office. HA!!
  • + 26
What a great commercial! I think I will go ride my bicycle now.

  • + 7
 YES!! and yes
  • + 18
Was about to shit on it being 27+..... Then he shredded the shit out of it. Best hardtail edit I've seen in a long while.

  • + 11
 That video was seriously awesome.
  • + 11
Was that an ode to Mert Lawwil's intro from On Any Sunday?
  • + 2
It sure was. It was almost the exact opening word for word.
  • + 1
definitely enjoyed it. things have changed quite a bit.
  • + 4
That was some great looking riding. However, if I met someone dressed like that out riding in the woods, I would soil myself.
  • + 6
Shit ! This guy is fast, really fast wow!
  • + 3
That is by far the most entertaining/creative bike teaser I have seen in a very long time hahahahah. Loved it and he was absolutely shredding
  • + 4
Dood rips harder in a monkey suit than many with the latest fully and troy lee / fox gear
  • + 4
I'm sure someone in the marketing dept though this would be super funny
  • + 2
00:46 -That's the same look and sound I make when my balls of steel make an abrupt, unplanned contact with the seat :0
  • + 4
 RANKIN!
  • + 2
Love the On Any Sunday start though!!!!!!
  • + 1
So 650B will turn me from a baldy to a hideous hairy monster? Add that one to the long list of reasons to not do 650B.
  • + 2
I wouldn't mind being a hideous hairy monster if I could shred that hard!!
  • + 2
I hope Ed Maters does the 27+ soon!!!!
  • + 0
We need an Ed Masters + Rob Jarman collaboration + corroboration video on 650b+.
  • + 0
Canyon will show their 650+ on the Eurobike...

Should have used Tv On The Radio's "Wolf Like Me" for this video. Not the video game music.

I know that it's an ad, with a "pro", but I thought Pinkbike was totally against riding without a helmet?

There is a chance we could all be reading a press release right now about this guy who rides for Charge Bikes who is in the hospital, on life support, and we need to donate to his medical fund. Luckily, we aren't, but I still think it isn't cool.
  • + 12
I'm pretty sure Pinkbike should be totally against chicken theft and ambushing and biting other riders too!

The video riders personal safety is his decision, this is hardly setting a role model people will imitate now is it?
  • - 3
"BOOOOOOOO....but damn, you are 100% right. Got to have that helmet.
  • + 12
There is that much hair a helmet could be very easily hidden.
  • + 0
 ok...if you think so.
  • + 1
No chickens were hurt in the filming of this video.
  • + 1
Uhhhhhhm wtf did I just watch? Cool thinking and nice edit!
  • + 1
That was insanley sick! Dude can shred.
  • + 0
Hot and hairy rides makes me think of chick mountain biking back in the 70's.
  • + 1
650DD is looking pretty hot here.
  • + 1
ha!the jarminator returns ,I thought he fucked off to join the marines.
  • + 1
That was so odd it just made me feel uncomfortable.
  • + 1
Oooh, that's how you use one of those things. Im OK with 27,5+ now Smile
  • + 1
I'm just going to let that set in for a while... haha
  • + 1
actually the 650B+ riders/animals wanna kill the "simple" 650B riders ???
  • + 0
haha that was funny and awesome riding too!
  • + 0
best video ive seen in a while hahahah
  • + 0
 That was some funny shit!
  • + 0
RS 1 works like hell !!!!
  • + 0
Nope. Not watching it. 27+ must die.
  • + 40
Ohhh why be so silly about it... the industry isn't 'forcing' you to do anything, might as well be as many wheel sizes as possible. Video makes it look like 26" with a bit more cush without the fat bike lag. I can dig it
  • + 3
you don't see often an ape on a bike I think you should watch it. And meeen that ape has skills
  • + 8
I think it's a werewolf...or weirwolf? Teen wolf? What are you looking at dicknose!?
  • + 12
Doesn't matter to me. Steez is steez.

 @McMurray - nice reference!

gclarida The video was alright for an MTB video. But you weren't missing anything. Most of the videos featuring 20 inch singlespeed bikes with 8 inch riser bars and no brakes shred a lot harder.
  • + 0
@1:50...he smashed that chicken when he fell.
  • + 1
 well done!!!!
  • - 1
He is right on the verge of going down hard. Awesome vid.
  • - 1
Yeah! Bloody funny vid, I want one Wink
  • + 0

  • + 1
I shed a tear laughing at this one!!
  • - 2
I thought I was watching myself! I only ride 650b tho..
  • - 2
Can the RS-1 stand up to that rough of consistent use?
  • + 2
Does a bear shit in the woods?
