Video: Course Preview - EWS Ainsa 2018

by Enduro World Series

The seventh round of the Enduro World Series takes place in Ainsa-Sobrarbe, Spain this weekend. It's the second time the series has visited this tiny village in the Pyrenean foothills, and riders are in for two big days of racing over seven stages. We sent Northern Ireland's finest, Ric McLaughlin, out under a blazing Spanish sun to guide us through the course ahead of the penultimate race of the year.

This looks like Rude territory with those flat bits and punchy climbs, but Maes will have so much confidence! I doubt Hill would risk as much as those two, but that could be completely wrong... will be one hell of a race!

Hasn't sam already taken the overall title? I'd say he's all in, as always.

Short fiddly turns that require the perfect pace to carry good flow...

@loganskis: No but he's more than 500 ahead of everyone. So a pretty solid lead.

With all the blown corners in that preview- I'm betting Hill and wouldn't be surprised to see the flats!
  • + 2
@TobiasHandcock: Imagine what it would be if Maes didnt had to pull out for a dislocated shoulder ....

@pinkbike the question on everyone's lips - IS ADAM THERE and will there be another privateer episode?

Its amazing how little effort Chris has to put in to go much faster than Rick who seems to be really trying to just survive.

 He does survive though!

I really enjoy watching an average rider ( or atleast non pro rider) tackle these stages it helps put it onto perspective for us folks at home how hard they really are. I wish the dh course previews did the same so we can get a feel for how truly hard these tracks are. the pros make them look like a cake walk

Excellent as always - climbs look tough, going to be extra physical?Cool place to ride!

Always good to see Rick ride, getting scared and picking crap lines like most normal riders!

I love the banter between Ric and Chris, looked like a real fun day out on the bike!
  • + 3
Hope no one falls off those cliffs! That's sketchy
  • + 4
 I like cursing Rick.

Looks great but I dont understand why they need to have an untimed bit in the middle just because it goes uphill.

I’m visiting Spain in early Oct and Ainsa is one of our stopping points. Trying to find a bike rental, any ideas?

Contact Interesport L'Ainsa or TT Aventura
  • + 1
Maybe the Intersport shop on main street.

I'm heading to Ainsa in the 17th October but am taking my own ride. If you need a good guide for the trails and for local info (bike here etc) then I have a Saffa mate who is a local now and doing stuff for the EWS this week as a fixer / translator. He's sorted me with accomodation and will be guiding us for a few day of our stay.

A guy from spain should not be talking shit about another country, remember what your ancestors did to other countries.
