After winning the Åre Video Challenge back in July, we decided to use the prize money to cure some of the Swedish winter blues.
So by the end of November, we packed up our bikes and went to the small Portuguese island in the Atlantic Ocean, Madeira.

The plan was to film a short edit, shoot some photos and most of all: just ride bikes. Here is what a week of vacation on Madeira island might look like!

From the airport straight to the hotel, we checked in and built our bikes.

On Madeira there is no shortage of trails, trails of all kind and riding them all in just a week would be impossible. Luckily our new friends at LokoLoko helped us out big time by hand picking the trails they thought we would like.

It's easy to see why Madeira has gained a reputation as one of the best mountain bike destinations in the world.

Load up the van and head back up again. After a well deserved cold one of course.

Hiking through a couple of narrow and dark caves in search of fresh trails had us feeling like we were in a Indiana Jones movie or something. Just a casual tuesday for our guide.

The Norwegian variant--#2--may be observed about halfway through Severed Ways: The Norse Discovery of America (film, 2007). No mtb content, but plenty of metal. Axe dude would have made a fine PB commenter. Go conquest.

@ceecee: the guy in orange D3 is Johan G. Used to live where I live. Where the troll dwells... I call him Zohan. Extremely irritating on group rides. May not have the top stamina, but sucks the stamina out of others by throwing whips of small rocks, doing flicks, slides, popping wheelies, general misconduct in the face of exertion.

@WAKIdesigns: Oh, I thought we were talking about peeing and pooping. Pardon the triple post. The comment software gets confused when number two is expressed with the number signifier and the literal number '2.' Hashtags are sucking the literacy from us. Glad you like this Zohan fellow. Every troll needs an imp.
