Video: Danny Hart Takes a Rapid Test Run on his Cube TWO15 DH Bike

by Ed Spratt

bigquotesTake a follow-cam run down Scogglio Rossi out here in Sanremo, Max Hartenstern, my teammate on the follow cam. We have done a few days on this track now, so today I just did a few runs a bit more chill than I have been because it gets dodgy doing runs faster and faster every time! Danny Hart

 “Not a rock in sight” Hahaha!

 Loved that. "Flowy, big berms, big air and not a rock in sight" Love the sarcasm. But maybe this really explains why Danny is so fast. He doesn't see rocks!

 Good morning sports friends! Haha what a legend

 We want to assure you that only four rims were harmed in the filming of this video.

 I think Danny and Sam may have damaged my rims all the way in the States. If ever a trail suggested old school Mavic 829s, this is it.

 @jackalope: 823 or 729? 8 series is UST only; no 29mm ID UST rim was ever made.

 @erikkellison: it's about the principle...

 @erikkellison: You just had to bring up UST, didn't you? I was almost to the point with my therapist where I was ready to move on from the joys of changing a UST tire on a UST rim.

 I have a rim Danny used doing some riding in the states at Plattekill Bike park. In one day of surfing shale rock which doesn't do too much damage to rims not like baby head rocks that don't move he destroyed a rim pretty bad. End of day he cut the spokes took his hub and tossed the rim. We still have it actually in a pile of spare parts with the tire he used. If he can destroy a rim on that kind of terrain he surely is very much so in harder rock terrain.

 It nice to watch “a bit more chill” runs still fast supper fast! But I was able to pick up some of the amazing bike handling skills that I do not catch when it is a faster run because they ( little hop hear little hop their bike placement after these hops ex)
Go by way to quick for me to catch on

 one of my best friends is a pro rider and learn so much every time I ride behind him. Those little movements will change your riding skills and take you to the next speed level quicker.

 @andrewbmxmtb: hahahahha. THANK YOU!

 #tryingtocatchDanny "when we stopped and I finally caught up I was panting from the effort and he was breathing normally, what is that!?"

 @Krzymndyd: One of my friends is an expert level rider (used to race DH at whistler). I learn a lot during the 10 seconds I ride behind him before he clears off into the distance.

 Supper fast? Is that faster than lunch, but slower than dinner?
  • 2 0
 @djm35: or when you skip supper for diet reasons?

 Instant direction change to gap on a loose surface at 1:57-2:00. Insane.

 Yeah, looks like the rocks kind of angled up, so he was able to slam the wheels in to the slight rut to bring the bike around.

 Having been in the game for over 30 years - it amazes me how far along bikes have come and the abuse they easily endure. Fast as fun!

 Dang that trail is sick!

He said "chill", but by the sound of Max heavy breathing it wasn't .

 I wonder if that bike can win races? I guess we're about to find out. I hope so. Go Danny Go.

 When brits go abroad and try to pronounce the place names but in their broad local accents - in an attempt to sound sophisticated - it makes me smile. But he can ride the shit out of a bike - brraaaapp!

 I could feel the fatigue by the end of the video and the terrain looked like there was a tonne of DH left. Relieved when they stopped lol.

 Awesome video, love seeing top tier riders in trails that resemble what I ride more

 Cranks were used only as footrests, he didn't complete not even one revolution on them, not even when he entered the trail!!
