Day two of the Rotorua Bike Fesitval was full on with riders coming from around the globe to take part in ripping down the freshly minted Nationals Track.

The variation in terrain and speed led to some great racing, with George Branningan bringing home the gold to back up his win from last year.

Keep an eye on this track as it's on all over again in one months time at Crankworx Rotorua DH!

 That track is deserving of a World Cup stop.

Watching Brannigan whip to the right on the right hand hip/step up was simply insane... one of the best shots I've seen in awhile because it's so unconventional to whip like that. That move should be named after him. Mad skills, sick track, nice edit!

 That course was legit, the gap jumps didn't appear to have much oops built in. I would of given Branningan the win for that ender whip alone.

 Agreed, Reminds me of the old DirtTV videos from the WC season. God I miss that. The Redbull coverage video's just don't cut it. Even though it's filmed by the same guys.

Great riding form GB on that final bit. Proper moto styled scrub/ negative whip/inside line action.

 maybe it's just a test run for crankworx rotorua for the filming part of it. i hope they make a webcast of it when cw comes around. What, with the off season there should be a good chance of seeing some pros for that...

 Because i love fuelling speculation, and also because this rumour isnt completely made up, this track is highly likely to be hosting a WC round in 2016 and 2017, on the condition that the scheduled Australian rounds don't get withdrawn due to a lack of secured funding (like cairns did this year).

 I was there watching the race, and as the problem with most videos, how steep and techy the track is hard to show! Even with this edit it is hard to grasp how hard parts of that track were to ride fast. It was actually nuts. Props to everyone that got down in one piece!

Also, for those of you interested in the filming aspect. This vid was put together by one guy (John Colthorpe) that had one camera with one set of legs to run him up and down the track all day. Good work johnny!

 @barzaka yeah the top half of the track till just after the Larches section (the continuous drop section in the powdery loam) was all part of the 06 Worlds track. All new to the bottom from about the 1.50-1.55 mark in Reon's video. The Empire of Dirt guys did a hell of a job putting it all together. Track has everything which I personally think a World Cup track should have. Not a whole bunch of pedalling needed which is also awesome to see.

 I like how it looked challenging for these pro riders. The dips under the gaps and the off cambers looked serious. Anybody doubling jumps there and keeping momentum going is seriously skilled at riding two wheels.

 there were about 5 or 6 racing. including 1 under 17. the female feild is pretty small in nz. the pro womans podium only had 4 people on it. under 17 had 1...
