Came to say this as well. That's some insane riding to do that. They also rode some of the double black lines on Lunch Loops which terrify me in the dry!
Sick promo, I can't tell are are these guys on Rails or Rascals? Personally more and more a fan of winter riding... This is a top edit in my opinion... Would love to know the name of the song... I'm also lucky enough to have a Revel demo option within 45 min... Toasted!
I understand that, but which resorts are even remotely close to Fruita? There’s Powderhorn, but I hear it’s not great plus has a short season. A good thing about living on the Western Slope is it’s reverse traffic to the busy resorts like Breck, Vail, Copper, etc.
Powderhorn shouldn't even be classified as a ski resort. It's so small. Never gets snow and lift lines are sooooo long. Definitely stick to the I-70 resorts, your life will be much more satisfying.
@Biocoug1: I have not ridden Telluride for a few years now but I rode it a lot during college in Durango. And the free trails off the gondola are awesome cuz they were free. They did not maintain them at all, very rough and brake bumps were insane. Not sure if they are charging now and take better care but if they were like in those years than a DH bike would definitely be the way to go. And honestly if you have a DH that you can bring a long why not? It's not needed for most bike parks in the US but still makes them that much more fun!
Powderhorn is really not bad. It will definitely challenge most riders and beat up on you quite a bit too, really forces you to be attentive due to fast, loose, and tight trails...but I haven't minded the shortish drive to all the other real good Colorado Resorts.
@skidmarkbro: there are new trails and an entirely new bike park that opened last June. I missed it by 3 weeks. They are charging for lift access on the chairs. The free trails are now included in bike park and not free during hours of operation. I heard it got bought by Vail, so there is a fee now for everything.
@Biocoug1: T-ride does charge for riding in the park now. 2-3 new trails (the harder one wasn't done yet last summer). Their DH track is pretty serious! They also sell a season pass to access the XC trails for $25!
@tempest3070: i know those trails are gone but they were awesome, free ride up and some steep decent with a cool drop or two! that was a long time ago though, 2000ish.....
what kind of evil allien technology you guys have there in the States.........where i come from, where there is snow ...there is mud...and where there is dust .....applying for visa ASAP...
This is also the typical mindset exhibited by so many people who live on the FR. Let me guess you’re a “NATIVE”, right? Or a transplant who believes other transplants shouldn’t move to CO. Look I get how people are frustrated, but when it’s all said and done we have to share. FYI I recently moved from Denver, but I’ll move back one day regardless of how many butt hurt people who live there and don’t know simply share. Go skiing on the weekdays - it’s not that difficult.
@beanandcheeseburrito: Lots of false assertions here. There is a vocal minority of pricks out there telling transplants to go home, but most trail users are pretty chill. We "natives" will always reminisce about 45min drives to Loveland and climbing a 14er without seeing another soul, but we also accept that things need to progress and people will always want to move where they see sick edits and instagram stories.
In other news, skiing on weekdays is not that easy for the majority of working Coloradans. Most workers don't have PTO, many would lose their jobs if they play hooky, and the rest of us are literally too busy to waste 3 hours each way to get 2.5 hours of skiing on the weekends. I stopped buying passes 3 years ago because I was dreading the commute more than I was excited about the skiing. I get 15-20 days per season, mostly backcountry touring in the early morning before work, and that's fine for me.

Will be there again this June. Amazing place, but last year I missed bike park opening by 3 weeks. This year I will be there end of June. I cant wait.
Question. I'm coming from Wa. Downhill bike or Just my all trail bike? The trails dont look like they really need a DH bike is neccessary

I think the Ikon pass has degraded skiing at all of its resorts.
Steamboat hates it, Jackson, Aspen, Buller, no ones happy
