It would have been great for Jesse to have raced the Island Cup at Mt Tzouhalem against Richie Rude and Mckay Vezina last weekend. See who is quickest preseason
Funnily enough, when people in Squamish ride elsewhere, they always come back raving how great the trails are there! There's sooooo much hype here, but also so many riders, most of which never pick up a shovel, which means blown out trails when other areas of the country and world enjoy a well maintained trail network. Come August, most Squamish locals are going out at 8am and riding lesser used trails to avoid the masses and ruts
@Cerealmike: And the ocean access, proximity to Whistler and Vancouver, the rock climbing, the river paddling, the mountaineering, snowmobiling, backcountry skiing, fishing. And the insane book clubs too. It's got it all.
@wake-n-rake: unless your are riding half nelson and ditch, its never crowded, no matter the time of day. there are Thousands of trails. You just have to look beyond Trailforks.
Its an outdoor mecca that also happens to be an hour from a major metropolitan center and major international airport. Same reason why Boulder is a shite show for the housing market. Access to everything.
@andraperrella27: Oh, 100% haha....but same logic applies as to why its so popular. Boulder just gets runners, hikers and road riders. Squamish gets mtb, climbers and paddlers.
@wake-n-rake: Dude. Totally Disagree. Lived in squamish for 15 years. Ride 150 days a year. Anytime I travel anywhere else I am bored in 3 days and I am looking forward to coming home. The trails I ride are never crowded and always rowdy. I hope you find some trails you enjoy riding in your Hometown.
"oh... errrrmm"
Nice riding!
the camera angel sh*t the bed, do it again!
