Video: Escaping to the Trails in 'From A Distance'

May 4, 2020
by Trevor Roland

A short film produced in our backyard while under quarantine due to the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic.

We are thankful for the ability to keep our doors open under restricted hours and with safety measures in place. We are also lucky to have nearby trails that make for a perfect riding escape.

*Disclaimer*
We filmed each section individually with the rider and videographer traveling in separate vehicles and following social distance guidelines. We focused on riding well within our comfort zones on familiar terrain.

Thanks for tuning in and stay safe.

It’s too bad they have to put a disclaimer to try to avoid being attacked by the mob who seem to think that people that are I capable of making decisions for themselves!

@freestyIAM: Watched the video, did you? Nope didn't think so - certainly no "conspiracy theories" presented, just a cogent argument why the lockdown is pointless, stupid and evil. I wouldn't expect a psychological adolescent to be able to recognize that though.

@ashlemon: @10:35 "The BEST thing you can do is get this disease and recover"

Please, listen to Mr Rose and go purposefully infect yourself right now. Please hurry, we can't wait.

heaven forbid these people are burdened by having to write a sentence to describe how they made their work, even if it also happens to be exact motivation behind the project and was volunteered by the people who produced the video in the first place.

It's been ten hours since you posted this. Where is the mob?

@freestyIAM: I'm not afraid of catching a virus that has proven to be less lethal than the seasonal flu. If you want to cower in your house, wear your mask, and wash your hands fifty times a day because the media has got you terrified - go for it.

@ashlemon: No one cares that you say you aren't afraid. Talk is cheap. Just go do it. Don't be a hypocrite. Walk your talk.

@freestyIAM: My routine has changed very little, except I can't go out to eat anymore. It is very likely I have been exposed to this virus multiple times already. Trust your immune system, it was designed for this.

Thanks to Pinkbike we can have lots of great content everyday even in these hard times, when other sites may take pause. Kudos!

...And guys, great movie! So laid back and atmospheric! Cool landscapes! The rock section line and the step up are super! The music is evidently inspired by Viktor Tsoi, isn't it )

Great video. Love seeing it so green up there. With how rocky the trials are, every SLO video should be sponsored by a tire insert company.

I really enjoy the creativity of the Art's Cyclery guys, they have made a few of these videos and they are always entertaining!

Nice work boys. I rode immaculate conception and it's brethren this weekend for the first time. Those north coast and ECR gnomes are doing good work.

@dhb7: Ah! That makes it legit! Cool! I've seen it a hundred times in the last 50 years...surfing then mountain biking. The Kooks always show up and the founding fathers always move on.

Never cry wolf...just saying.....

All the trails ridden here are on Strava...the video doesn't show where they are, names, or how to get there. Not to mention the last trail is 1 of 2 legal trails on the ridge.

Ya man, most people guessed Tahoe or Washington for trail #1...Also, Morning Glory is no secret Wink Alex just makes it look sicker than most.
  • 2 0
@dhb7: Agreed! This video is far from “blowing” anything up. But...apparently even if your the one who built a jump people will hate on you filming it haha

 @Buzzerm sorry dude, you're wrong.
