Video: Fast & Raw on Vancouver's North Shore

Oct 20, 2020
by Kona Bikes

Brian Serneels and filmmaker friend Joel Barrow spent a foggy Sunday capturing Brian’s vision of modern North Shore riding. His riding is fast and raw just like the soundtrack. Turn it up or turn it off—either way it’s a treat for the eyes. Thanks to all the trail builders for continuing to redefine the Shore and make it one of the best places in the world to call home.

F***ing rowdy! What song/ band is used in the video? Loved it. Nice change from the usual music.
  • 4 0
 Thanks dude!

Band is Trash Talk and the song is Awake.

Check out the "awake" EP by them. One of my favorite hardcore/metal records.

I did not expect the crash at the end and yelled out load when it happened and scared my wife! That bike went flying !!

That trail is a lot steeper than it looks so pretty easy to send the bike 10 feet in the air. Haha. Lucky for me it’s soft ground.

@Bserneels: Just glad you're ok. Keep shredding!

I hate that music but I can't think of anything more appropriate for that rowdy of a ride lol. Cheers to you guys and the editors. That stuff is wild.

Astonishing footage, ruined by the music... no music and let the awesome riding speak for itself is my vote

Too each his own! Just wanted to do something different than every other edit that’s comes out with either no music or lofi slowmo style beats.

Thats the way to ride Jersey Shore on an 153! I own one and it gets eaten alive at top speed vs my DH bike. Well done and nice edit!!
  • 3 0
153 is the most fun bike I’ve ever ridden! So playful!
  • 3 0
@Bserneels: true, its a fun bike to ride. I do wish i had the skills to be playful and stylish at higher speeds. More of a “try and keep the eyes far down the track and keep weight in my pedals. Thats as far as ive come.

Don't like what kind of place Vancouver has become, but can't see myself ever leaving the Shore with how epic the riding is. Great job in capturing the rawness of riding this place.

Great piece of riding, looks fantastic on video. Almost feels obtainable, if only for the lack of turbo button.
