Video: Fox Manor at Big Bear with Voreis, McCauls and Strait

Taking to the Southern California mountains this summer, the Fox MTB team has been having plenty of fun at Snow Summit’s bike park. Holed up in the “Big Bear Manor” for the week, the house is an opportunity to get the global team together for some riding and filming in the park, as well as feed the Fox design team with real-time input on the latest gear and equipment.

I thought it would be cool to have a house in Big Bear close to Snow Summit for our global athletes to use for the summer. We’ve been doing product testing and will be working on some video edits,” says Fox MTB’s Mike Redding. “The idea came from our surf team house on the North Shore.

The first edit from the Big Bear Manor/Snow Summit bike park has just dropped with a ton of great riding and good times. Team riders Cam McCaul, Tyler McCaul, Kirt Voreis and Kyle Strait are featured ripping the trails in the park.

Fox has also signed on as a title sponsor for the 2015 Snow Summit summer season. And Fox Europe also has a house in Morzine at Rude Lodge for the summer.

Snow Summit is Southern California’s only lift-served bike park featuring trails such as Miracle Mile, Party Wave and Westridge, and the green trail that is now open.

Nice little vibe video right there. Looks like those guys are having a good time. Cam just killing it per the usual. Like that little manual out kyle did in the dust bowl towards the end. Everyone needs a little rain right now. Get those trails repaired and tacky for a few days. LOL!
  • 4 3
Is that Kirt rocking the manual? Nope, see it now!

Yeah C-Mac. Can't help shredding the fack out everything he touches. I bet his wife's pussy just loves his ridin' style. Wink

crankworx needs a fourth stop, and big bear should be the location.

Westridge ridden all the way through has about 30 jumps from top to bottom...been in CO for a month trying to find something comparable.

westridge for air dh, old w/c track for the classic dh, dual slalom and dual speed and style is a no brainer, and the slope style possibilities are endless.

would be insane.
  • 7 0
The only problem is that the old World Cup track doesn't exist anymore and none of the trails are gnarly enough for a dh race, and the rules laid down by the national forest department are so strict it's nearly impossible for them to build more trails.

 @socalriderwil...........

are you talkin about the old way of thinking?
cause what about the new way of thinking..............

hmmmmmmmmmm.

They want to expand, but the government and ecological people won't let them.
  • 2 0
They've put in by-pass lines on Westridge since Father Days this year. Big Bear is still a lot of fun! I'd wish they had better signage to keep the comfort bikes with coaster brakes and ill-fitted helmets off the advance runs, thou. I just feel bad when you roll up on an injured newbie.

Fun fact: big bear's green trail was suppose to been done on July 4 of last year!

Cam missed the memo on bike color. So much skill and style for all these guys and especially when you look at how dry and blown out those trails appear to be.

Great Video! Wow you can see California's drought in this video.
  • 2 0
Actually, the lake is quite full for a drought. Look at Lake Mead or Lake Powell by comparison. 50 ft. below the waterline and ten thousand times the acreage.
  • 7 0
Fox Head really should put up some signage in the room......
  • 6 0
So that's how your supposed to ride Westridge. I'd be happy to just clear every jump!!
  • 6 0
Green trail is NOT open. Frown
  • 2 0
Yeah I think they are referring to "Small Wonder" beginner trail. At least we half that to thin the out less experienced riders parking on the trail.
  • 3 1
Love that there is a Marzocchi in the mix. Gotta be a fan boy and hope the company survives! Frustrated about the progress of Snow Summit. 2 and 1/2 years and no green run to separate the riders, and no challenging runs - just the one and a half jump runs and whatever Miracle Mile is... Bring your dirt jumper!

on a scale of 1-10 how sweet was the house

T.Mac the only one who os keeping it real with a big bike
  • 3 0
Love that too, but big bike not necessary at Snow Summit.
  • 2 0
Cool to see what the pros can do on a run I ride often. Like the low production value, fun vibe- it is just riding a bicycle after all.

 Voreis is mental!
  • 2 0
That jump to manual is insane. Voreis killed it.
  • 4 0
Voreis seems like a teenager trapped in a 40 yr olds body. I rode up in a shuttle van with him at one of the Oregon Enduro stops and he seems like a super cool guy. I got some shared stoke off him that's for sure. Friggin mental fast on a bike too.

Nice intro from Ricky out of Trailer Park Boys.

 Cam! Shredding!!!!!

imagine viewing these guys riding together live, from the side of the trail. Damnn!!!
  • 1 0
ok, this maybe a dumb question

how did he tailwhip without tearing up the brake and shiftier lines?
  • 2 0
probo running longer lines, than ususal, so there is reserve for one full spin.
  • 1 0
@yxbix Ah!, That makes sense. Thank you for explaining that.
  • 1 0
Pleasure. Also, if you google "mountainbike hydraulic gyro", you will see another option for that, which used to be popular on dirt-jump hardtails, but I doubt they are running them in this vid.

Dope! Just like the normal Cable gyro on BMX bikes. Thanks bro!
  • 8 7
only one of them was using fox suspension
  • 14 2
 Fox Head,their apparel sponsor.
  • 1 0
@bikebike69 so the company that makes those jerseys and shorts doesn't make the suspension or seat posts?
  • 2 0
@Auggie99 my statement is response to the above about suspension being "not Fox" on a couple bikes.
Fox "Head" and Fox "Tail" are indeed the same company but task with different products. I.e. one can be sponsored by Fox "Head" and still be running othe maker suspension.
Got it?
  • 2 0
@bikebike69 thanks for the explanation rob
  • 1 0
Imagine if Kyle crashed into you... you'll be knocked strait out by him!
  • 2 0
 Ahh...I'm there now!
  • 2 1
 This looks so fun!
  • 6 5
 Looks soo 2004
  • 3 0
don't know if you'd see a whip or a flip in the middle of a section like you saw in that very brief clip. But vibe wise... yeah it's a throw back. I like it.
  • 1 0
YEAH but that's the thing. It felt so old school... I mean, even before 2004. It was like watching Simmons, Shandro, Tippie and Barham back in the day but with new rigs, parks, flat TV's and new haircuts... that's it.

Cool Video.
