So late I had to take a 3rd shit. Worth it.
  • 4 3
I could'nt have said it better. Thanks!

 2;55. noobs
  • 45 0
There was nothing failing in that first clip.
  • 2 0
I thought the same thing. Now the 2nd clip, that boy was showing how to properly execute a fail!
  • 1 0
The only fail, if you can even call it that, is the landing being a pile of loose dirt. He would have nailed that otherwise Smile
  • 42 0
Having a little kid standing at the top hands on hips passing judgement on your form should be a requirement for every drop clip.
  • 16 2
Especially if you're riding an ebike!
  • 1 0
@VtVolk: nice catch! Didn't notice that the first time, but after going back for some slo-mo analysis, he's also wearing jean shorts and a braided leather belt. Well tomorrow is Father's Day!
  • 33 1
1:50 Loved the laughing as he approaches the bridge as if he KNEW the guy was going in the drink
  • 16 0
 He arguably caused it... Smile
  • 9 1
I've been there, right in front of a girl scout troop on the other side.
  • 5 0
@RayDolor: If there's no video of that, you need to get out there and do a re-creation.
  • 2 0
When you see a guy wearing absolutely no safety equipment except for some DH gloves, he's either wicked awesome or has no business on a bike.
  • 1 0
@rrolly: Fortunately, I landed in fairly shallow water on both wheels at once, so I didn't put a foot down but managed to pedal to the bank. I told them that any gentleman mtb'er would do the same.

I think it is great that a lot of the MTB community is very welcoming to beginners, but I think that's a double edge sword. Friday Fails shows so many people without fundamental bike handling skills getting in way over their head and crashing. It is gonna get even worse (or if you are watching Friday Fails, better) with all the covid noobs on the trails now.

I don't mean to say we should be tough on beginners, or that I'm a bike handling god, but we need to drill into beginners heads that mountain biking risk needs to be taken seriously, and that you can get seriously f*cked up if you aren't careful. I love seeing people starting their journey, but for the love of god, your Ibis will not do the job.

I agree, but I don't think this is a new trend. We were doing the same stupid stuff as kids in the 80's and 90's. It's just that no one was lugging a 20lb VHS camcorder around with them all the time so most of it went unseen.
  • 18 0
The whole "just send it brah" mentality is bad for beginners. I understand pushing yourself and getting over fear, but there is a difference between sending something you are scared of but have the technical abilities to ride and just going for something that you have no business doing.
  • 8 1
I'd much rather people be learning on modern bikes than the shit I learned on in the 90s. that alone is about 4x better safety factor.
  • 15 1
@groghunter: Not sure I agree, I feel like having a bike that had a semi good chance of breaking in half made you evaluate the risks a bit more.
  • 1 0
What is a covid noob Never mind
  • 6 0
@VtVolk: at least people use helmets now!
  • 4 0
 @CircusMaximus: I have seen otherwise...
  • 2 1
@acdownhill: plus, on old dinky bikes you crash at much slower speeds.
  • 3 0
@VtVolk: scroll down the mtb sites today, its all cool people doing huge jumps and gaps ,making it look easy. In the 90s,no internet, mtb mags featured lycra guys sweating like pigs. People buy cool gear, hit the bike park,no accept of their own limitations, bye bye.
  • 1 0
All those words...enhanced by invoking the Cry of the Bin Chicken. Glory unto you!
  • 1 0
@lenniDK: This isn't really true. Sure we didn't have such easy access but the reason I tried stupid stuff was (1) magazines and (2) bike shop VHS on loop.
  • 15 0
Your true friends always laugh heartily at your expense before checking to see if you’re okay.
  • 10 0
I want to see a Friday Fails Award with voting. Most Failingest ought to get a t-shirt or a sticker. Just watch for them on the trail...

that dude that flat-backed in onto the landing ramp after a backflip attempt made my insides hurt, and not in the laughing kind of way.
  • 6 0
No kidding I honest to God yelled at that
  • 2 0
My insides twitched for him. That was hard to watch o_O
  • 3 0
www.pinkbike.com/video/509506 heres the gopro vid. it was his first attempt ever he hadnt even tried on an airbag or resi
  • 11 0
Jean shorts, yeah your gonna fail
  • 11 0
Yo those werent even cut-offs, those were some legit new-balance wearin', miller lite drinkin', grass stained dad jorts. nicee
  • 9 0
@yoimaninja: Can't a man wear his Jorts without fear of getting shit on?
  • 2 0
@yoimaninja: paired with a braided leather belt, too!
  • 1 0
@HB208: u kiddin me? Jorts are my go-to mtb pants!
  • 10 0
i guess i can finally start doing work for the day
  • 11 0
 What a stupid sport!
  • 5 0
At 2:25 they rode down, got off their bikes probably talked about filming for a bit, hiked up, did the entire ride in. And somehow through all that time passing no one had the thought to move the bike in the middle of the runout?
  • 9 0
About time... My 6-year old daughter already asked about it twice.
  • 1 0
Your daughter is awesome. Secretly she's just waiting for the day you hand your phone over to her on the trail . . .
  • 2 0
@rrolly: Yeah, her snark factor has really moved to the next level watching Friday Fails. She'll be hell on wheels when she gets on Pinkbike. :-
  • 1 0
Haha what is it about 6 year old daughters?

Mine's like "oh it's Friday? That means Friday Fails"
  • 7 0
I feel like most of these folks have bailed before. There were definitely some skilled dismounts in the mix this week.
  • 5 0
Why is there always a disproportionate number of Eastern Europeans on FF? Also, they are always more likely to bust out laughing at their friends.
  • 4 0
The one where the guy loses his neck brace sketched me out, reminded me too much of cedric ripping open his femoral artery
  • 3 0
Jeeesus, just watched that video. Glad we didn't lose him!
  • 1 0
 Its was his goggles
  • 3 0
Wish I could see the carnage on some of these fails. A couple of those looked like it was going to be new bike day the next day.
  • 4 1
What kind of a-hole just laughs at their buddy. I at least ask if they are ok while I catch my breath from laughing.
  • 1 0
Stay down until the laughing ahole gets close, then roll kick him in the nads..
  • 3 0
So many of these fails are just people flopping over after a tiny jump. Always wondered how they managed that
  • 2 1
 One man's tiny is another man's 12 inche...I mean , footer
  • 2 0
Had to stop it 5 seconds in. If the first guy is fail then I might as well completely give up mountain biking because I'm a fucking embarrassment.
  • 5 2
2:09 That's what you get for breaking with the middle finger
  • 6 1
Breaking with your middle finger has nothing to do with it. I brake with my middle finger on the left because I lost the tip of my index finger in a motorcycle accident when I was 14. hasn’t hurt my riding skills. so I would suggest that is pilot skill that caused the crash.
  • 3 0
That little guy at 3:06 must have ate a death cookie.
  • 8 0
There should be a Pinkbike policy that the little rippers are exempt from Friday Fails. We have enough stupid adults and teens to fill the void.
  • 2 0
@ckcbmrice: agreed, but then how are those mtb dads supposed to get insta-famous?
  • 1 0
@ckcbmrice: I don't know, I thought it was smart on dad's part. Makes me wish I had spawned a few more to test the trail ahead for obstacles.
  • 2 0
The little kid at 3:04 on the Levitate trail needs a slacker head tube angle. Face plant!
  • 2 0
Had to check the calendar and make sure it was Friday....
  • 1 0
3:27, you know when you fall down the steep backwards and you pray you don't land on something hard.
  • 1 0
Didnt see the Fails, and got worried and thought this was the going to be the biggest fail!
  • 7 0
I was worried it was Thursday and I was gonna have to work tomorrow
  • 3 0
 Backflop
  • 1 0
Is there a gun battle going on behind the trees at 2:50 or is it just my computer?
  • 1 0
Man I hope that guy at 2:49 is alright, he dropped from serious height there.
  • 1 0
funnily enough it was him taking the next video
  • 2 0
1.50 He should've girderd his loins for that crossing.
  • 1 0
Fat bikes should be more popular seeing as ~40% of those crashes would've been avoided by being on one.
  • 3 0
 kid at 3:04 got wadded
  • 1 0
you gotta excuse the guy at the begining, he would have ridden it out if he wheels didnt sink halfway into the sand.
  • 2 0
 Full sand.
  • 2 0
I think I’ll call this the laughter edition.
  • 1 0
@ 1:00 i'm happy the clip didnt end up with the guy getting impaled on that tree stump. Does not look inviting...
  • 2 0
Poor little man, he took a hard digger!
  • 1 0
Fear the Duff. Loved that big jump in the first few clips, over shooting can be more hazardous than casing it!
  • 3 1
 Finally...
  • 6 8
Yo Pinkbike, could we get a feature on some of the trails in these fails videos? Lots of them look homemade but super fun. Would be cool to read about the spots and riders that built them.
  • 2 1
 2:40

Shit... he better calls Saul for that case
  • 1 1
2:55 too... 2 guys casing THE FRONT WHEEL

Need an entire attorney office.
  • 3 0
 That's good!.....Not so much.
  • 1 0
Yeah omg. Case to the FACE. Looked like fullface came in handy there. Looked like fork bottomed then helmet hit stem. Yikes. Watched 5 times.

EDIT: Talking about the case at 3:00
  • 2 0
@dglass: i was the guy that went first and did the massive case ...i was on the landing and a guy still does it!!
  • 1 0
The ol' ball tug at the end.
  • 1 0
I could feel the one at 3:25 with that audio.
  • 2 0
 bazmeg!
  • 1 0
Fridayfails keeps me going these days...
  • 1 0
At least one case for the dentist in there today.
  • 1 0
With a name like pink bike, I expect fails
  • 1 0
 3:26 Wins best actor.
  • 1 0
 Damn gaps!
  • 1 0
 @3:30 Ahhhhh! Ohhhh!
