@Dropthedebt: look for the Slash. It looks like a Trek.
  • 1 1
@iliveonnitro: I don't really know what a Trek Slash looks like, but if you're from SanJo I'm gonna guess it's one of the Tahoe-ish clips or something that looks like it could be at Carlmont...."are you alright?"

1:35.. when you let your bud ride your bike and he dumps it.. My poor knolly podium... I filmed that clip so now im famous!?!
  • 56 1
The little ripper @ 1.20 is this week's winner lol
  • 9 0
 The ole sack-septuple-tap!
  • 13 0
he deserves a medal for hanging on like that
  • 43 0
 I think he's still going. . .
  • 8 0
If biking doesn't work out for them, they should consider rock climbing. Grip strength for days.
  • 2 0
 oh my!
  • 90 0
@rrolly: They say he's still out there, holding on with that death grip, spotted now and again like a ghost ship. Last week somebody saw him on A-Line, hazy outlines of where his pedals used to be. Then yesterday a footless apparition was spotted descending Morzine. Aye, soon enough they say he'll be nothin' but handlebars and his upper body fused to the frame of his saddle.
  • 7 1
 @number44: You Win this Friday
  • 8 0
@number44: Aye, when the sun sets ye best be havin yer feet on yer pedals, or ye be joinin that boy as another mystical creature hauntin the lands, half human and half bicycle like a mountain bike version of a minotaur
  • 1 0
 The longest crash ever.
  • 8 0
 @rrolly: A mountaintaur?
  • 3 0
ya man that was nuts, the dust trail makes it look like he has a rocket attached to the bike and just keeps going.
  • 2 0
Hilarious! But who made the sounds? The little riper or the one filming/watching? Those sounds made half of the fun in the video. Smile
  • 3 0
 @rrolly:

See half boy-half bike minotaur freaky mix up: "Looks like a session"
  • 1 0
@rrolly: the longest **I do not accept it..**
  • 3 0
@number44: you had me crying for a good 5 minutes....God bless you....
  • 5 0
@number44: the real test is to see if he's on next week in a different location still going...
  • 41 1
"Every time a bell rings, a mountain biker loses his wings"
  • 3 0
He literally got his bell rung.
  • 35 1
 Why wear gloves? 3:08
  • 6 0
Oh how all the gloveless riders must have cringed.
  • 5 0
Also many of these riders were not wearing knee pads. I feel naked with out them
  • 1 0
Mad props to that dude. Knew he was coming in wrong and just got steezy anyway. "Awwwwww sh*t. This doesn't look good. might as well bust a tabletop before I eat it."
  • 28 1
It's horrific to see how many people hit jumps long before they're ready.

Where I live the forestry service just bulldozed many of the jump lines I rode daily and so I can't help being frustrated when I see people getting so in over their heads; they risk ruining trail networks for everyone.
  • 6 0
Agreed. According to Friday Fails, 95% of crashes are caused by poor jump skills. That's the reason I keep wheels on the ground!
  • 9 0
@Skooks: It's the reason to start small and progress once you're ready. I'm 100% behind jumping, and I feel like learning to jump can be fun and relatively painless but people need to have respect for what they're trying to do.
  • 2 0
@Skooks: So you still have a 5% chance to show us, come on be a sport.
  • 1 0
I hear you, but you can't get better if you don't send it. baby steps though.
  • 21 0
Nice touch ending the Friday Fails with a twofer!
  • 19 2
When filming, landscape, landscape, landscape folks....
  • 5 0
Friends don’t let friends film vertically!!
  • 1 0
@snomaster: Yesterday I was practising drops (finally made the biggest one) and a guy came to me and asked specifically to film him vertically. I agreed, now I feel like a traitor. Sorry guys.

Unicycling your front wheel with your undercarriage riding the stem is the worst feeling, aside from being injured. Especially with your feet off the pedals. The rear wheel's in the air so can't use that to stop, the front brake will send you over the bars for sure... You can't bail. You're panicking. It's either use your feet to stop or ride out a 30% grade to the next corner... Then you hit a drop off a rock, the floor drops out and your seat scorpions you to the ground while your bar pinches your leg between it and the frame, crashing thru the ferns and stinging nettles onto the switchback below.

Is that doing it right?
  • 3 0
Now, it might not be right but it works for me and if there's a tree heading my way well....bonus!
  • 11 0
This Week: Week of the nose dive. Also that first guy had it until he took his feet off.
  • 3 0
3:22: Bike has left the chat
  • 1 0
This week: Kids shouldn't extend jumps themselves, no-one knows which direction the landing is at, coming to a rest with your head against a tree isn't recommended and a whole lot of brake control that is not Remy-esque
  • 1 0
at 1:59 looks like he actually broke his nose ... ouch
  • 10 0
How does one submit videos to friday fails? I have 2 pieces of artwork ready to go!
  • 3 0
I second this! i have a nice little spill to share!
  • 4 0
 This should work:
m.pinkbike.com/video/uploadfiles then crashes
  • 3 0
Open the youtube video, there’s a link in the header section.

But now you must also admit to the timestamp when it gets included!
  • 4 0
@peleton7 post a video of it on your account and then put #fridayfails in the description
  • 1 0
To save clicks, the link on YouTube sends you here: m.pinkbike.com/video/crashes
  • 8 0
A two-for-one on the last clip? You're too kind
  • 6 0
that was the best one hahaha 1st guy scrubbed before he even got off the jump
  • 6 1
Failing is winning! Learn from your crashes. I just wish it didn't hurt for so long afterwards.
  • 5 0
Enjoyed the slo-mo of 3.20 highlighting the precise spot you don't want to put your front wheel.
  • 6 0
It's the ones who need knees pads the most who decide not to wear them.
  • 2 0
A few too many cringe worthy tree ninja and face scrubs today....I prefer the oooohhh that could have been so bad but they look ok clips....like the lone ranger kid who just rode off in a cloud of dust and someone joked still hasn't come to a stop or the racer who full speed ejected into the brush searching for a shortcut. Friday wouldn't be the same without you FF.
  • 6 0
 "Malaga Cove Crash"!
  • 19 0
 Never forget
  • 1 0
 @Burningbird: beat me to it.
  • 2 0
Yeah love the effort on the edit. Legend.
  • 1 0
I read it the French spongebob voice-over guy voice.
  • 5 1
Needs to be sponsored by a bike shoe brand and/or pedal manufacturer - so many feet off pedals to catastrophe fails!
  • 2 0
2:37 went deep on that hip. He/she Probably had that feeling in the air when when you notice the landing is too far behind you and then your adrenaline spikes as you prepare for impact.
  • 5 0
OTB or not OTB, that is the question.
  • 2 0
 OTB. There ain't no question.
  • 2 0
When someone adds a title to their crash “Malala Crash, June 3, 2020”, you expect it to be spectacular, not some kid rolling over a double and then his bell gently ringing as he tips over. Got a good laugh though.
  • 2 1
 That.Was.Brutal...
The sound of bones breaking was way too frequent for my liking- brings back too many bad memories.
I can't remember when I last saw a FF with so much serious pain in such a short period of time.
Now to watch it again... :-)
  • 3 0
1.28, holding on for dear life while all manner of shit breaks out. we have all been there, admit it.
  • 18 0
 Kinda describes 2020 so far.
  • 4 0
That poor 2CV doesn't deserve to end up like that
  • 1 0
every week I think the same thing while watching POV crashes: "how do these people wreck so hard and not make a single sound?!" Maybe it's just me, but whenever I fall I make all kinds of weird grunts and cries.
  • 1 0
All these bikes are now for sale.
”Mint condition last year model only ridden 4hours(girlfriends bike)”
”20% off purchase price”
”Minor scratch from jumping short and one overshooting”
  • 1 1
The first crash in the video happens as he is anxious, when he leaves the ground he tries to pinch the frame with his legs thus removing pressure from the pedals and blows a foot off on landing, the rest was inevitable!

Where is the rest, are these Friday Fails videos not usually longer than 4 minutes? Boo!
  • 2 0
Drop the rock Don't drop the rock You gotta drop the rock Can't stop the rock.
  • 2 0
I sung it to "Rock the Boat" www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfBwsG8ubFw
  • 2 0
Please Pinkbike, post this a few hours erlier - it is always too late to watch Friday Fails at work!
  • 3 0
But then it would be Thursday fails... Wink
  • 3 0
Beginners without any pads and in half-shell lids - I salute you!
  • 1 0
2:52 I appreicate the bones of previous dead bikes laying right next to the jump to warn others.....even though the rider ignored the warning this time.
  • 1 1
This one was very prevalent so I keep wondering why people don't shift their weight back when doing steep descents or drops. A lot of these crashes are easily avoidable with some proper weight distribution on the bike.
  • 2 0
3:22 —- I figured a fork would snap in half no questions asked , when cased like that. You learn something new...
  • 2 0
That was carnage today. Remember kids, trees don't move. Ride good or eat wood.
  • 2 0
PB comments: "Trees are taking everyone out!"

Jump lips: "Hold my trashed front wheel!"
  • 1 0
The number of OTB's here make a pretty strong case that head tube angles aren't slack enough. Clear evidence that we need the Grim Donut
  • 1 0
I just show up to FF for the sketchy kid on hardtail wearing basketball shorts and running shoes fails. Those are usually the best.
  • 1 2
I almost ate $*!+ today commuting to work. Chain tried to come off the road bike at speed while merging into a lane. 2 good foot plants saved the day. If I was clipped in I would have been smeared all over the pavement. #FlatPedals unless I'm riding 50+ miles.
  • 1 0
2:46 Last tree standing. The BOSS. Scoffs at chain saws. Doesn't even notice the dude paying homage with his head. So noble is that tree.
  • 2 0
 3:26: 26 ain't dead!
3:29: Hold my beer
  • 1 0
There seems to be something about riders with GoPro stickers on their handlebars (pros excluded)
  • 1 0
Anyone else notice that they were all on 29ers had flats and a dropper post......
  • 1 0
Think Pinkbike need to do an article about the cause and effect of compression and rebound....
  • 1 0
"So the faster I set my rebound the more traction I have, right?"
"Exactly"
  • 2 0
Before you buy a GoPro and film your poor skills, buy knee pads!!!
  • 1 0
3:20 is fully committed. I really felt he could get there. Better try again.
  • 1 0
What is my dude at 1:45 have dangling off the left hand side of his handlebars?
  • 2 0
Anybody noticed the broken arm? :O
  • 1 0
How do you submit videos to Friday Fails?
  • 1 0
Open the youtube video, there’s a link in the header section.

But now you must also admit to the timestamp when it gets included!
  • 1 0
"I forgot which way I was going" Nope, not that way...
  • 1 0

  • 2 0
I lived in Seoul for two years and never mountain biked Frown I hope you are enjoying those beautiful mountains. Please drink tons of Hite and BBQ for me.
  • 1 0
@Adamrideshisbike: I see... there are many pretty good mountains near Seoul to ride a mountain bike. You can enjoy a mountain bike if you drive in any direction for about 30 minutes. Of course, you can ride a bike or...By the way, a foreigner who knows Hite...Haha~
  • 2 0
@fsr-dh: I loved Korea. The thing I miss most is the food. I would kill for a Kim chi chigae right now.
  • 1 0
the 3rd guy at the end didn't join the trio crash train like last week...
  • 1 0
Is there a particular name for front cases?
  • 1 0

  • 1 0
Malaga Cove Crash- let us never forget that date.
  • 1 0
 The long-awaited hobby horse edit.
  • 1 0
I can't tell what's the most dangerous. Flat pedals, jumps, or cameras?
  • 3 0
flat pedals are actually safer than click pedals. Having that extra 1/2 second to separate yourself from the bike can make all the difference when
1. Coming up short on a jump
2. Looping out of a manual
3. Over shooting a gap to flat when you are about to land way too heavy on the front wheel.
4. Any time you need to quickly foot plant.
Clip in pedals hinder skill progression.
  • 1 0
 That first crash.... FINISH HIM!
  • 1 0
love the twofur at the end.
  • 2 1
 So many Giant Reigns....
  • 4 1
It's the unofficial bike of Friday Fails, for sure.
  • 3 0
@Adamrideshisbike: Have we already forgotten Ibis?
  • 1 0
But there is only 1 Reign in this video?
  • 1 1
 @OzarkBike: keep looking dude!
  • 1 0
 1:00 Looked painful.
  • 1 0
 Knee pads people.
  • 1 0
 YEEEEEEAAAAAouooooohhhhh
  • 1 0
 3:10 proper handbrake
  • 1 0
 That was gruesome!
