Is everyone else seeing italicized comments all of the sudden?
  • 11 0
looks like an intern has been playing with the website again
  • 16 0
Rotate your monitor so it sits parallel to your table top.
  • 11 2
If you type the word fucker it also puts the asterisk in for you. Go on try it.
  • 9 1
@bigtim: let's she how it deals with shit and c*nt.
  • 3 0
 Mere mortals should not attempt!
  • 3 1
 @bigtim : muthaf*cka -- How'd you get the f*cker to show?
  • 3 0
Why do these comments seem so critically important?!?
  • 5 0
wedge has now been placed under laptop to unitalicize comments
  • 5 0
@VtVolk: when everything is emphatic is anything emphasized?!?
  • 2 1
All of a sudden, not all of the sudden.
  • 5 0
The entire news-comments-container html is wrapped in an 'i' element. Means you can't find it when searching for a CSS rule. It's in the source right after the div.blog-container.

This implies that somebody is editing this with some HTML editor helper, because they should never be using straight HTML to apply style to the content, and wrapping the entire comment section looks like some kind of IDE based error.

I used to work for PB briefly back in 08. The comments stuff hasn't changed _that_ much. Wink

@bigtim: hmmm f*cker, huh it worked
  • 2 0
@enki: Must be one of those new "full-stack developer"

I still don't get gravel bikes for anything more than a fire road.
  • 13 0
 Want to see them huck-to-flat!
  • 26 0
The only time I want to see gravel bikes on this site is when there is a crash.
  • 8 0
My thoughts exactly. You can ride hard on a rigid bike. But narrow dropbars are the worst for riding trails.
  • 4 1
@DonEnrique: I smile when curly bars crash.
  • 3 3
@tuskenraider: Revelling in other 's harm is so cool, way to go!
  • 6 1
@DonEnrique: From what I’ve learned from people who do it is the fun isn’t actually riding the trails. It’s telling people that you ride a gravel bike on those trails.
  • 1 0
@BarryWalstead: that is impressive... couldn't ride that fast on my enduro bike lol
  • 5 1
Yea on anything more than a fireroad I'd prefer an mtb and I find these gravel-bike-hits-mtb-trails videos cringe

But the thing is you can never tell from a single photo or clip what a ride consists of overall

I sometimes do a few km of singletrack on my gravelbike among 100km or more of road/gravel, so if I took my mtb most of the ride would be really tedious
  • 1 0
@saladdodger: right? Not to mention Dan is an all around good time.
  • 4 0
@overconfident: did you actually watch the video though? It's pretty impressive how fast he's throwing that bike around.
  • 2 1
@BarryWalstead: fair point, I've seen that one before and I agree it's quite impressive
  • 1 0
I don’t think they care if you get it or not.

"We'll build our own Rampage, with 10% of the skill"

- Like 3 of these clips
  • 6 0
Yeah, rampage had a lot to answer for this week
  • 5 0
so I am just trying to understand... can anyone access Rampage location and wreck themselves? It's not on private property?
  • 7 0
@valrock: it’s on public land. Anyone can go. You should go!
  • 2 0
@valrock: you can go anytime except during Rampage.
  • 17 0
 PEDAL PEDAL PEDAL!!!
Video cut before he probably said: "Oh Shit man, you shouldn't have been going so fast."
  • 2 0
Probably said "Why did you pedal so much?"
  • 13 0
#12 is definitely an older brother that told their mom they were just going on a chill ride and of course they never do anything dangerous like in the socials.
  • 4 0
I think that kid got KO'd. Hope they're alright.
  • 4 0
@tomfoolerybackground You mean the one with pedal, pedal, pedal.......no...no? I was thinking it was Dad realizing 2 things. First-the kid is hurt. Second- how am I going to explain this to the wife? Older brother sounds about right, too.
  • 11 1
appreciated the lightheartedness of the last three clips....like America's Funniest Home Videos. Nice pallet cleanser after the brutality
  • 7 0
Im working on my next crash video. As the bystander/photographer is it best to chime in with "are you OK"? or just an "Ooooo". Or is it even better to curse in Polish? Also, what are thoughts on timing of the audio? I lean towards the "Are you OK"? and with practice I have been able to blurt it out before the rider comes to a halt.
  • 5 0
make sure you say "are you OK" before your partner finishes crashing!!!
  • 10 1
#16 - gripping bars like that? Ok.
  • 15 0
 bmx background
  • 8 0
I think that #14 is going to have to make an appointment with his local Yeti owner....
  • 1 0
 Yeah, some jaw-dropping crashes...
  • 8 0
13 was an impressive rodeo. I hope he's ok !
  • 7 0
Wonder how far up the trail he was riding with zero control. that was not pretty.
  • 1 0
Was that half of his smashed helmet lying on the ground?
  • 7 1
Is it bad that I can't look at anything else in 16 other than how far from the end of the bars they're gripping?
  • 6 0
Its called dirt jumpin bro, its cool
  • 2 1
I mean, do those people know how to cut bars to length?
  • 3 0
 Have you seen their jeans!
  • 7 0
 omg no.6!
  • 5 0
Yah would love to know if the rider and tree are both ok. HFS.
  • 4 0
#21, I think I have a new favourite fail category of watching a drop bar biff it on a trail that is way more appropriate for a mountain bike
  • 3 1
There's nothing about that trail that looks "way more appropriate for a mountain bike". It's smooth dirt singletrack. He tried to roll a double rather than gapping it (~2ft gap - totally doable on a gravel bike) or taking the ridearound.
  • 6 1
@ChristophColombo: Can you do it on a drop-bar bike? Sure. Can you do it faster, easier and more comfortably on a MTB bike? Yes, so the trail is more appropriate for a mountain bike.

Do troll comments like mine succeed in getting drop bar riders chamois all tied in knots? Also yes.

(I have a drop bar bike, and love riding it)

#9 made me laugh quite a bit, sorry hope he’s okay lol

Lots of people eating it in the desert thinking they’re in rampage

A lot of those jib crashes would be solved with just a little more speed and letting go of the brakes lol

Never thought I'd see the Duthie practice drops on FF. Wait.... yes I did.
  • 1 0
I thought that was Duthie! It was only time until it showed up on here.
  • 4 0
#9 - "No kneepads, boy is this kid going to regret th-..."
Kid smashes somehow smashes his back on the front rotor
  • 1 0
This one really got me lol
  • 5 0
 #23 is a new one.
  • 5 0
That's called 'trail maintenance'. Not a fail.
  • 4 0
 #17 2:36 says it all!

TGIF & ride bikes!
  • 3 0
#6 looked really bad. In my experience trees don't tend to get out of the way.
  • 2 0
Always good to hear laughter and see a rider giving a thumbs up. I can pass on the "no, no" variety as camera runs to prone body...
  • 5 1
 21--so satisfying.
  • 2 0
Talk about having the wrong tool for the job.
  • 2 0
 Grave(l) bike
  • 3 0
#11 crashed so hard they broke the 4th wall
  • 3 0
I like the replacement of "Your okay?" with giggling
  • 1 0
Pinkbike bringing the Friday Fails on Friday Eveinng the last week or two. Was a great morning coffee viewing... slackers. lol
  • 2 0
Want a surefire way to make Friday Fails? Try a flip!
  • 1 0
Brutal - a few hard slams this week. I wonder why Leatt doesn't sponsor these ... (maybe they have?).
  • 1 0
PB mods, as most of the clips are in portrait, is it worth putting out a Portrait and Landscape version of FF?
  • 1 0
I’m just going to assume #6 is not currently a quad, since he or one of his buddies sent it in.
  • 5 0
She is all good, already back on the bike
  • 1 0
So we're still starting our counting with zero? Or is that the same person from #2 with a different angle?
  • 1 1
Only got 11 deep this week before i turned it off at the add. I hope 13 and up are crap. Next comes charging us for our fails like the trailforks rug pull.
  • 2 0
#11 Rider crashed into the side of my screen
  • 2 0
 #17 gave me a chuckle
  • 1 0
Is TikTok to blame for all of these being shot in portrait mode?
  • 1 0
#14 is my local!! Now I will picture this every time I ride that feature
  • 2 0
That's not quite the visualization that you want to be aiming for...Brutal smash.
  • 1 0
This week's Friday Fails is sponsored by: Helmets!
  • 1 1
