Make your kids at least 'grow up' on a BMX bike folks. The very basic skills for drops and/or jumps is completely lost on many of these riders in the crash videos. Big Grin

Took the words right out of my keyboard. Lol Cheers
  • 9 1
Wise words. Had a BMX since the age of 7 and nothing has prepared me better for mtb skills. My son will be 6 next year, time for his first BMX soon I think.
  • 10 2
preach. i tell all my friends to raise their kids bmxican. doesn’t matter if on the track or street. the skills they pick up will never go away.

@tremeer023: if he doesn't have one already, it's time for a balance bike now
  • 3 0
@fullbug: you sir must be the the Stileman school of BMX with the 'BMXican' reference. Kudos!
  • 25 0
There’s no denying that a Bmx background helps, but there’s really no excuse for some of the shit in these videos lmao.....
  • 1 0
 @nvranka: No kidding. Ha!
  • 7 0
 @tremeer023: You're already 6 years late!
  • 1 0
Truth. I grew up riding BMX. Stopped cause adult life took over. Then I bought a mountain bike 6 years after quitting BMX. First run I was comfortable on jumps and drops at the bike park.
  • 2 0
@valhallascott: yeh, he had a Strider at 2, then moved him to a 14 inch wheel bike which he's a bit big for now. The time has come for 20 inch. We'll finally be able to do proper rides together - so excited.

I rode BMX in high school and it is the foundation of my mountain biking today. Learning to dirt jump and find your rhythm and flow on a bmx is what you need. As much as I love these full suspension grom mountain bikes for kids, they need to get the basics down first at their local dirt jumps and pump track.
  • 1 0
True story man. It's not smart to just throw them on a big bike with silly chain stays and suspension without the BMX cross training at very least. The bmx crowd is VASTLY superior to the mtb grom scene at least at a young age in skills. I see 6yro hitting big jumps etc on mtb. At the bmx park we go to, I see 6 graders busting 360s on big spines. The difference is insane, especially in all of the other skills too. The beauty is that you can get a sick Cult Juvy for like 300$ in a 12" and they can ride from 3yo on. Waiting until they are 6 or so is a mistake that only leads to bad habits like sitting and pedaling WAY to freaking much.
  • 3 0
@Svinyard: even BMX racing is a huge help..I have a friend who grew up racing BMX. First season in whistler and he went from doing greens to pro lines by the end of the season. Absolutely insane.
  • 2 0
Yup. Learning how much slamming on concrete hurts makes you learn to jump and land well pretty quick. ha ha.

Boggle say ming how these people are laughing pretty big stuff, when they clearly don't even understand the basics of pulling up and unweighting!?!

 @2:38- Bike VS. Moto. Yikes.
  • 5 0
 oooh... that was rough
  • 3 0
The same thing happened to a friend of mine, but it ended with a couple of broken ribs and a broken arm
  • 5 2
 braaaaaap! braaaaap!
  • 2 1
That was me at 14yo, but I was on a moto too and both of us coming into the same blind turn ... torn ACL for me :-(
  • 5 1
I try to only moto on trails that are not conducive to bikes. Sand, too steep, too rocky... and even then there’s still the possibility of another moto flying at you. Scary stuff!
  • 4 1
@nuttypoolog: I tend to only ride on trails where Moto aren't allowed...
  • 1 0
That happened to me, im glad the only think broken was my suspension fork and wheel! Scary as heck though
  • 2 1
I've had a close call like that before. Bi-directional trails with limited sight lines are a safety hazard.

How about some wednesday wins with people getting out of sketchy situations?
  • 6 0
Saturday Saves & Send It Sundays. I like Wednesday wins; something to help you over the hump and ready to send it into the weekend.
  • 35 3
 C'mon guys, use a helmet...
  • 13 0
Can't jump, can't think - some commonality there...
  • 28 2
These are always a good reminder to myself, that I am pretty good at riding a bike.
  • 42 0
don't sell yourself short, you're a tremendous slouch
  • 5 0
 @LuvAZ: Be the ball, Danny.

IF YOU CAN DODGE A KTM YOU CAN DODGE A BALL!

That barspin to trouser pocket at 1:03 - legend!
Baggy shorts 1 : Taco'ed wheel 0
Smile
  • 3 0
You mean Taco'ed wheel 1; Baggy shorts 0 - the 0 being the hole where the bar end rammed through and pierced his nuts. Been there done that.
  • 2 0
It's called an X-up, looks like his bar got stuck on the seat somehow
  • 18 0
The opening dude with that steezy nose wheelie into the lip. What a boss.
  • 8 0
that dirtbike is my biggest fear
  • 9 0
Mine is the same thing, but it's a Horse. A moto will run you over, a Horse will run you over, then shit on you.
  • 7 0
Think I just learned the phrase, "Oh, sh*t!" in three different languages.
  • 1 0
That Video was done a few years ago now ... I'm the first rider and my mate ... who soon found out how powerful his Front brake was lol
  • 5 0
Love these! Just a whole lot of weight up high and failing to commit. A few badasses coming real close to greatness.
  • 2 0
that front wheel landing at 2:57 achieves greatness imo
  • 5 0
My favorite part was the kid on crutches hopping over to help at 3:12 haha
  • 13 8
If Randy missed that X-Up he would have taco-ed the earth.
  • 8 6
Randy always checks that his fly is zipped to ensure he doesn't snag a lever.
  • 6 4
Randy just burritos his wheels instead and rides them sideways.
  • 1 2
No joke, I’ve actually seen the real Randy ride that jump. To flat.
  • 6 0
 0:32 what happened?
  • 9 0
Rear tire blowout. Saw it happen to someone once; we thought it was a gunshot.
  • 3 0
@tripleultrasuperboostplusplus: I blew an old nevegal back in the day. We were riding a "secret" trail and I thought someone was shooting at us. Think that might have been a faster lap down than any race run I've done!
  • 2 0
@krashDH85: I thought that was a gunshot too...like the "wolf creek" movie!
  • 3 1
That last one on the ladder bridge I've seen a lot of over the years. He had his body in the right position but didn't pull up on the front end, acting like he was going to drop down a slope rather than an actual drop off.
  • 2 0
To me his whole run seemed like balls over brains/ feat over form, which while you can't learn if you don't try, I think maybe slowing down and developing the skills needed for any 1 feature before linking them all together might benefit him a before going forward haha.
  • 1 0
I think he may have grabbed some rear brake once his front wheel was off the bridge. His front end dropped so abruptly.
  • 3 1
I always think that it's no wonder the guy in the title animation crashed when he's using a road double crankset on a mountain bike.
  • 3 0
Not surprised that the people who can barely ride a bike, but think they can, don't wear helmets.
  • 2 0
Fail Friday always makes me wonder how I ever thought racing in just a full face and knee pads was a good idea. I miss the the joy of being young, dumb, and full of stoke.
  • 3 0
It's amazing the slams the pros at Rampage walk away from compared to these.
  • 1 1
Proper use of upper body strength
  • 3 0
its about time, love watching these
  • 1 0
Does a compilation of all the 'Friday Fails' videos exist somewhere? I'm just looking for a list so I can easily watch or point people to

  • 1 2
When will those little Benders finally realize that you should never nose dive a drop. I can‘t believe how many times these mistakes are being made. People donˋt learn from these friday fails videos, shutting their notebook off, hopping on a bike and just keep repeating the same shitty mistake all over again ????????
  • 1 0
A lot of times those nosys come from back wheels getting hung up just slightly on more natural drops. Apparently lightening the backend is good technique but I don't know how to do that lol.
  • 2 0
POV at 2:01 "Jesus take the wheel!"
  • 2 0
That bike became Helium and just floated away.
  • 1 0
These are always painful to watch. It has been a great way to learn what NOT to do.
  • 2 0
 These are just brutal. Damn.
  • 3 0
 that motorbike??
  • 1 0
Nothing better than the look on the guys face when his tire blew just sitting there. I can’t stop laughing.
  • 1 0
0.24: can you take it off any sweet jumps?
  • 1 0
Broke my elbow on Friday - just what I needed!
  • 1 0
That gap at 1:30 looks sketchy as hell
  • 1 0
 Where did that guy's bike go @ 2:04 ?

 Kurwa no more?

 Taco time!
  • 1 2
Always love watching these. I can’t believe there was a guy going the opposite way on a dirt bike. Wtf buddy!!!!!

Kind of off topic, but does anyone know what Yoann Barelli is referring to in his latest instagram story? www.instagram.com/stories/yoannbarelli/?hl=en
  • 2 2
Well if it's like other "revolutions" in recent mtb history it's probably 30.5" wheels
  • 13 7
Remy Metailler will be equipped with Anal probe which will vibrate deliberately and release tabasco sauce everytime he sends a scrub.
  • 1 1
He mentioned something on The Privateer story about gapping the train on an eBike.
  • 2 1
@peisenberg: He already posted the video of him doing that
www.instagram.com/p/Bp7Go-8ghWJ
  • 7 2
So he jumped a train on a motor bike, I think Evel Knievel did that when he was like six or somethin'.
  • 4 3
@Bomadics: no, Evil Knievel jumped over a train on an enginebike
  • 1 3
@WAKIdesigns: yup sure dude, all those people at the race tracks watching the enginecross races. A motor by any other name is still a motor, you can 1984 the shit outta your words, don't change a thing.
  • 4 1
@Bomadics: i just wonder whether I should troll you into thinking that I think that enginebike is the right word or not...
  • 1 3
@WAKIdesigns: Go for it, it didn't take the first troll, maybe if you try really really hard!
  • 5 1
 No. You ruined it now.
