Ahaha the guy on the wall ride: "fck it I'm halfway over, might as well finish the job!"

That reminds me of the 70's rollerderby. Skinny Minny Miller just rubbed you out, bruh.

(and what's the deal with the guy wearing the dinner jacket watching mountain biking at 1:40?)

Enjoyed it! Even though most of the footage seems like the best fails of 2005.

I like the immediate calmly stated injury diagnosis "I think I broke my wrist"
  • 42 0
In my experience that level of calm and clarity indicates that his self-diagnosis is probably correct.

 @Linkpin: I concur, fml

As contrasted by bystanders just standing there doing nothing more than screaming “are you ok?” 2 milliseconds into your ongoing crash.

Which crashing on dirt is one thing, but a few of those rock slams had me wincing in sympathy ...

 @Linkpin: It's a pretty sobering moment.

So many drop fails with zero attempt to pull up on the bars! Like they can just will the front wheel in the air with mind control. If you can't ride off of a sidewalk and land both tires in the street at the same time you have no business trying any drop of any size. Pull up people!

 ^this
That's how I started. The only jump line in the area is rather huge for newbies. I started off just riding down the sidewalk and riding off the curbs, learning how to get comfortable, lifting, landing, etc. My neighbors think I'm nutz, 'cause I'm no spring chicken, but it sure is fun. S

ha seriously. these videos seem to be one of 2 people: 1) complete noobs who have no clue what theyre doing, riding off something with zero technique, or 2) really good riders who are trying something huge/crazy and overcook it

@sooner518: sometimes there are wrong suspension dials, too
  • 2 1
i do decent size drops and i never intentionally pull on my bars i bend my knees amd elbows on drops, land perfectly everytime but they are drops at speed. if it was a slow run in then yeh id def be pulling up

Front wheel seems to be the problem today. Next time they should try riding with just the rear wheel.

This spring/summer I rode out a hard front wheel landing but it freaked me out. I have not tried anything like that again the rest of the year. Not that it stopped me from crashing, I just didn't see those crashes coming.

I even went to Ray's to try and find a similar feature but the closest thing was the tallest drop-in in the whole building and I chickened out. I tried to convince myself I was just tired and my elbow hurt but I was just scared. Haven't really ridden much since to let the elbow heal up. Somehow I need to get over the mental block.

just work yourself back up to something like what you almost crashed on. no sense in trying to massive if you are not ready.

 Unicycle jumping FTW ...

But to be honest, after getting the Push ACS3 coil conversion and revalving service done on a 2015 Fox 36 I came to realize that most of my mishaps were just as much if not more related to the original fubar Fox fork setup as technique/skill.

It seems like giant builds the state-of-the-art bikes for this video series. It's not just the glory but also the reign.
  • 4 0
I am a reign owner/rider, always thought it was my total lack of ability/skill that led to my high crash count, starting to think other wise now.

 I can respect that

The perfect fail award goes to 1:12. Equipment, riding level, setting up for the jump and execution all work in unison here.

Forgot to add roughness of slam!
  • 1 0
I like how long he held on, thinking he might pull out of it.
  • 5 0
Doesn't matter what language you speak, we all know the groans of a "good" crash.
  • 3 0
I think my favorite part of Friday Fails is the commentary in the background!
  • 3 0
Guys who comment in first two vids are actually asking the same thing, first one is bit more descriptive though Big Grin

  • 4 2
What's wrong with crashing on simple stuff?
  • 2 0
 Friday fails, backflip edition
  • 1 0
@SupraKZ: Man most of the time I fall on my bike is when I’m doing simple stuff that I’m not paying the most attention to. Don’t get me wrong there’s plenty of falls where I’m trying to push myself into doing something bigger. I just get to distracted setting myself up for something and don’t realize how dried out this berm is or that I’m about to ride into some soft pack before a descent. Moral of the story here is fall as much as you can it’s the fun part
