@MorbidlyObeseKoala: It did not appear that there were any nails Smile "I'll balance these two boards and if I hit it just right . . . "

Me - wow these fails are really brutal, maybe I should consider taking it a little easier...

Also me within a half-hour - "Watch me"
  • 2 0
Agreed. These keep me in check

I ate it hard this week and all I could think of was how it would have made for a great clip on Friday fails.

I haven't laughed as much at a Friday Fails in quite a while. That ramp was awesome.
  • 6 0
I haven't laughed that hard at a wreck in a long time. Soon as I saw the board, I was giggling with excitement...then I exploded when he hit it.

Also, why do we think gap jumps are a good idea. Have these videos taught us nothing about piling up wood and mounding dirt on it? Big Grin

Spot a friday fail before it happens:

> Rider's front mech audibly rubbing on chain as they approach jump
> It's 2019, but video is shot on noughties phone
> Rider is approaching take off, but sat down on seat and spinning like mad in low gear
> Irrespective of terrain, riders elbows appear straight

this is my lunchbreak - these videos are too short yo - just leave in the 10 seconds after the incident - some of us aren't braindead and need a new clip every millisecond.

I've been awfully close to being that guy. I call that "nope".

I did that on a rock roll with a small drop at the end. The rock was fine but as soon as I saw the drop, I went nope and put my feet down, rear wheel rising and everything. As I looked it over, I decided there was a sneaky line right next to a rock wall that I could avoid the drop so I tried the whole thing over but hit my bars against the wall and got squirrelly. Made my way to the bottom but couldn't quite ride it out and grabbed a big handful of brakes and went OTB.

At the time, there was a videographer documenting the opening of this new trail but since I was the fat old-ish guy on the cheap bike and there was a young cool guy with a nice Kona the camera wasn't on me. They were like, "I wish I got that on video."

Not a fan of being on video but can be useful to understand what you are doing. Or in my case, the one time I was on video to analyze my pump track technique, realize what a slob I looked like wearing sweat pants. The next time I went to Ray's with my kids, I wore jeans.

Something similar happened to me earlier this year at Highland. There's a big rainbow bridge on a trail I had never ridden. As I approached it I was trying to read the caution sign to see if it said "DROP" or not....wondering if it was rollable. I slowed down way too much and stalled before I got to the top and did exactly what that guy did in this video. Turns out it was rollable.

Would have been better to ride off it.

FOR SALE: to the guy at 1:05, and probably to many others: my neighbour is selling his balls: fresh and nice pair of french balls, adult medium size, second hand item that was used pretty often for pretty normal purposes but always well serviced.
The buyer can propose his price, reasonably of course. No exchange with a pair of Enve wheels or anything else that starts with `pair`, but possible shipping to North America. Precision: these is a pair of balls, not a Barelli`s 3 balls version. Best regards.

 1:23 guy wins everything.

:29. “I’ve never hit this line”. “Just fallow me in, you’ll be good”.
  • 12 0
Was going to make fun of your misspelling, but I looked it up. You are actually 100% accurate about what is happening: "plowed and harrowed but left unsown for a period in order to restore its fertility as part of a crop rotation or to avoid surplus production."
  • 1 0
Lol I've had my biggest crash from exactly that. Steep crazy rocky chute... me: I don'tvknow, I've never ridden something like that. more skilled buddy on better bike, just follow me, flies down. Me, trying to slowly pick my way down, MASSSIVE OTB. lol

 I have an idea.

We all hate vertical recording right? I mean what kind of idiot does this?

Okay, so don't include any videos shot like this.

People want to be on this compilation, it will force them to shoot in horizontal or landscape.
  • 3 0
except it's kind of like a fail amplifier; a ridiculous biking fail is that much more of a fail when filmed vertically with a 0.5 megapixel potato.

Who stops to pick up a water bottle on a race run?
Who wants a water bottle on a race bike?
Why do people love their damn bottles so much?
DV away.
