Kubinska Hola is known for its rough terrain and beautiful scenery. Every year riders come here to race one of few rounds of Slovak National Downhill Cup. Martin Betko missed his chance to race here this year but is training hard for upcoming races.

Martin Betko training on his favourite track.

Filming can be dangerous too.

I've never understood painting certain rocks/roots on the trail orange. How is it decided which ones are worthy of bright paint? Why not paint them all? Or better yet, none of them!!!

Someone walking that track really just got too excited about their new can of spray paint.

I think it's for the sketchy ones. Here in the Czech Republic KlĂnovec, there are a few rocks painted blue.

Is it not chalk? I see there's paint and chalk varieties of orange marking spray.

The chalk kind is claimed to be pressure washable, or disappears over the course of 10-20 days of general weathering and abrasion. e.g. Aervoe Orange Marking Chalk. The paint kind is oil-based and cleans up with mineral spirits. Claimed to fade over a few weeks.

I imagine typical orange spray paint is more permanent.

My understanding is that the painted ones are big enough to catch a pedal/bb and send you OTB.

Slovakia is an awesome place to ride DH. So many true natural raw DH tracks and park. Lovely!

Broo the track is almost 3km long and has vertical drop of over 600 meters! You need to ride it to believe that it's really rough.
