How about a Claudio and Cathro preview? Claudio is not dead but it looks like it may be some time until he gets back on the DH bike. Let Cathro take over until then. And Reb Bull needs to allow more than just a 3 min video. Do they want to promote this sport or not? #Cathrovision
He can never be Claudio. He has communications ability, thinks really hard about the track, and lets a huge audience in on the secret complexities at the top of the sport. He is the Joe Rogan of DH.
I have to get my arse to Scotland for a clinic with Ben before he gets too busy and too expensive... because his latest analysis is just amazing. Best in the business. By far.
More great analysis from the giraffe.
Ben has brought through some talented riders, Henry and George of Propain were both with Ben until they signed for Propain, I would bet that especially now they are benefiting from Ben's input and insight as a racer.
Good on you Ben, you have been the 1 elite at the Scottish rounds that has pretty much always been there. Good luck for the future and I hope that someone snaps you up for the technical insight into the tracks.
@jaame: not really, youtube add money is really bad nowadays channels with 6 milions subs gets like 700k sub views because of terrible YouTube algorithms
you need some kind of external sponsorship in order to make decent money from YouTube
@Asmodai: I agree, YouTube money is crappy for most but, if Cathro gets a lot more subscriber it makes him a more attractive talent for media companies like Redbull. I'd love to see what he could do with more resources.
@Asmodai: not the point - more subscribers on Cathrovision == more exposure and success, more deals with red bull and bigger networks, and eventually income streams that have nothing to do with youtube!
@Asmodai: Good, youtube should be a shit way to make a living. It should take sponsorships. Maybe that way we'll get more cathrovision, bxkc, skills with phil, and less bullshit with people slapping people in the face with fish.
@LoganKM1982: there is nothing wrong with people slapping people in the face with whatever
you dont like that content? dont watch it its supposed to be free platform, and if your content is shit then you either wont get viewers or your views will be worth less than A+ channel
@Asmodai: I watched one yesterday which was the Russian face slapping championship. Literally these guys are just taking it in turns to slap each other. Some of them are massive guys too. Really good video.
I think he is a super sound guy and I hope he gets the red bull course preview gig.
On the other hand, it will never cease to amaze me how people have the time or the inclination to film themselves walking up a hill with absolute camera. He had to walk up, put the camera down and point it down, walk back down, then walk up whilst drinking beer, then do same two or three times at different sections of track. I mean honestly, how can anyone make a job out of that? Is he really getting paid off these kind of videos? Is anyone? I mean, is he making more than he would if he had a normal job? Is it enough to pay a mortgage and feed kids?
Not hating, just perplexed by the financial viability of such a job. There are allot of people doing it, but is it a job, or a hobby?
The greatest assets Ben Cathro has, alongside his supreme technical knowledge, are his positivity and general all round niceness. He’s like absolutely no Scotsman I have ever met before ????
You are a fucking clown mate. Way to generalize an entire nationality. Ditch the bikes and go to a golf course where attitudes like yours are welcome. You man-opausal wretch
Maybe he could be the new Claudio? ????
absolutely, he's been on the circuit for so long and is such a cool dude
This guy is cooler on beer (who's not)
Cathro join rob and claudio please
Or was I not allowed to know that?
