Interesting insights! Thanks for sharing (especially when coming from pros such as Greg not hiding their "training secrets")!

I'd be a great Enduro racer cause I'm always tired, so all my downhill practice is when I'm 100% gassed.

great stuff. would love to see more stuff like this.

This is how I train when going riding... I ride really hard from the shed to the car, then take it easy and enjoy the ride for the journey there!

"Yeah, it's pretty enduro-specific training" -Me, justifying my kooky riding habits to people on the trail

I knew he would be squidding. This is to my mind the only way of making Queenstown even slightly not fun

What's up with his breathing? There's no control of it just huffing and puffing.
In through the nose fill the diaphragm out through the mouth.

He's gonna huff you up

Anyway since you want to down vote me for an observation like little girls with skint knees... My remarks about his breathing reminded me of my own struggles in that department. I have spent the last 4 months working on it being consistent at all times. I was noticing I would hold my breath during moments of high concentration like gnar or when I would stand up to Sprint. I still hold my breath from time to time but I'm much improved. I try to breath the same at all times just faster or slower depending on physical exertion. Also I've noticed speeding up my breathing before or right as I exert is far more effective vs letting it happen naturally as a reaction. Now you can back to your butt slapping.

You should try being Greg's trainer. I'm sure he would love to have someone with as much insight and knowledge as you. You'd never know. Maybe he might even let you do a race in his place seeing as you know so much. With Greg being at the level he is, I'm pretty sure he is well aware of his breathing and I'm pretty sure he would know how to control it. But it's good to know that you're ahead of him in that game if he's stuck.

Why do you care if people downvote you?
(Jun 4, 2019 at 20:09)
: ya because that's what I was suggesting. Way to create a strawman an hack away at him.
I was simply making an observation and drawing a parallel.
Your and others thinking are " OMG you can't offer any criticism because that might dissuade him from making more videos of this sort".
I'm pretty sure the guy is confident in himself and doesn't need you slapping his ass and telling him how great he is.
