Video: Innes Graham Shreds Steep and Loose Innerleithen Trails

by Viris Brand

Where do you go to shoot your first edit for a new series, and who you do you shoot?

Easy, you head to a small town in the Scottish borders called Innerleithen and film with local legend Innes Graham.

There is a story behind Innes and Viris Brand, but we'll save that for another time. But for now, sit back and enjoy this video of Innes Graham doing what he does best.

Gutted we had to cancel our trip to the Tweed Valley this year, Scotland's second wave restrictions kicked in a few days before we had planned to go. Looking forward to being able to road trip with friends without restrictions again, whenever that time may come.

Luckily we filmed this in August, there are some amazing trails up there. Hopefully 2021 brings less restrictions and you get to go on your road trip.

@VirisBrand: august? lol. and it's still that muddy? yikes.

we are moving to the UK from California at the end of the year. guess I will have to hone my mud riding game!

@VirisBrand: Great job with the edit, fingers crossed for next year.

@conoat. I'm guessing it's going to be a little different from what you're used to. Wetter than a whale with a bladder infection here at the moment (thanks for that one Mr Warner).

@conoat: It's pretty much always "wet" riding conditions. There are plenty of dry warm days to ride on but it most likely rained a couple of days beforehand. You can certainly kiss goodbye to trails blown out by dust.

@conoat: Yeah mid August, to be fair August the last few years has always been a bit wet. But the rest of the summer is normally great. UK winters defo not on par with California winters, that’s for sure

@commental: cheers, yeah fingers are well and truly crossed for next year

@conoat: yeah you might need to do some adjusting, that looks pretty dry by Tweed Valley standards! Amazing place to ride but get yourself some goretex and mud spikes.

@conoat: Brace yourself. This was in the south where we get better weather!

I haven't rode there in nearly 20 years now, can't imagine how tight those trees are with modern wide bars, must of smashed my hands on dozens of trees with 680mms !

 Oh they’re tight!

One of the best edits I’ve seen in a long time

No better rider out there in our opinion

Remember riding at inners and he fly off the road gap and right through the trees

Ok I'm thinking Innerleithen is just a sick place to ride.
  • 1 0
It really, really is. Look for Inners on trailforks and have you mind blown by how many different (amazing) riding spots there are within a few miles. One of the reasons I am looking to move 20 miles down the road to the Tweed Valley.

Great video, different to anything for a while in a good way. Innes was always pinned at the races, even more pinned on video by the looks of it.

Nice riding, didn't like the music.
  • 32 3
I think all "music was bad" commenters should have to suggest their better choice, so we can rip on your awful taste in music too.

It’s probably a copyright thing to have any decent music on it would demand a massive fee to play it...

@L0rdTom: raw riding is the right music choice
  • 3 1
@enduroNZ: pretty much exactly that, we didn't have a huge budget for the edit as Viris is a fairly new and very small company. Would have liked to use some better music but licensing music gets super expensive.

 @L0rdTom: Sail by awolnation

@L0rdTom: my suggestion: No music. Just raaw brrappp.
  • 1 1
Couldn't watch til the end, because of music!

@noahr2011: always wondered about that. When people use, say a hip hop track, are they usually just risking it without paying? Or do they pay? And if so how much money are we talking? (Ballpark figure).

Great edit by the way. I'll be up there tomorrow, just riding a lot slower and with less style than you!!

Big jumps and drops are cool, but I do love a video with good fast cornering in...
