Harper Mountain in Kamloops, BC has been a staple of riding since its inception. This somewhat small mountain has some deceivingly long runs, which leads to a pretty unique experience for racers!

The biking community in Kamloops has never been stronger. Kamloops is the birthplace of freeriding, and a few recent developments at Harper Mountain have put this riding destination back on the 'must-ride' list for every rider. Since last June, two trails have been revitalized up at Harper Mountain. The first trail is 'Pimpernot', a freerider's dream, with jumps, drops, rollers, and lots of little lines to session. The second trail is currently unnamed and was just completed a few weeks ago.

In every community there are a few key individuals who make it all happen; Cheryl Beattie is one of those people. Cheryl has poured countless hours of volunteer time into making Harper Mountain a world class riding destination. Follow along as she explains some recent developments and how the community has rallied together to make some improvements.

So, why should you move to Kamloops? If you want to ride every day and avoid the mountain tax (what you pay for living in a ski-town or similar), then Kamloops is your place.

Oh and don't forget, the shuttle road has been graded!

Check out the route racers took this weekend and follow it the next time you pass through town!

This is a revitalized trail project that we’ve been spearheading since last fall. The trail links together a bunch of older trails and since it is still be finalized we were able to set up a few corners to offer riders a few unique turns to make them giggle! .With every registration we donate 10% to the local trail club. For this event we donated $2636 back to the trails. In addition to this, last fall we put a grant application together for $5000 and we added $2500 on top of that to make it all come together. A big thanks to the trail managers at the KPCC and to the KBRA helping with the grant application!

If you're looking to come to explore this beautiful and booming mountain bike destination, start planning your trip with Mountain Biking BC and Tourism Kamloops, and be sure to send some love to the crew at the Kamloops Performance Cycling Centre via Trailforks.
