After a great success of 12 Months 12 Stories last year, Jérôme Clementz and his crew launches a new video series for 2014 named "Escape". Based on the ride and discovery, he would like to share his favorite trails through his world’s travels.

In February Jey went to Chile for a month to ride and discovers just how much potential there is in this country for riding enduro. He was particularly fascinated by a trail which starts to the top of the hill in Las Varas and ends in the city of Santiago which has 7 million inhabitants. An old amphitheater overlooks the city and is the start of the trail, Jey shreds this fast, dusty and rocky trail which is full of cactus and which was made specifically for the "after work ride."

Sometimes good trails are just around the corner...

It's funny how noone cares whether the Pike internals are "prototype" on his bike, but when there is a "RAD" sticker everyone loses their minds.

Yeah, almost like this article was focused around biking rather than hype. Wink

Dope riding, and glad to hear that song in another edit. Woo!

Prototype frame too? The cable routing looks rather tidy considering how many additional cables there are nowadays. Hate to say it but 650B too?

Nevertheless an awesome video! Clementz is going to be hard to catch again this year!

He will ride whatever his sponsors tell him to ride. He can probably win again on either a 26 or 27.5. He is just a stud.

Did he ever really leave that "he's back"
  • 2 0
Because it's not a whole content-less article about the fork. Obviously people are going to ride prototypes. It makes no sense to write about them until there's actual information to report.

Am I the only one who thinks they need a flash back to the old specialized big hit w/ the 26 up front and the 24 in the rear, except amp it up to a 26 rear and a 27.5 up front?

I think Liteville have done. Big Grin

Two different sized wheels feels a bit odd in the corners. The wheels have two different arcs around a corner, so the back wheel will try to turn sharper. Had a friend with a Specialized P.2 when they did the 26/24. Did not work for me at all.
  • 2 1
True, but the size difference is so minimal between 26/27.5 vs. 26/24 that I highly doubt it would be a noticeable handling issue, this 27.5 wheel size is not exactly true, the bead seat diameter on a 26 is roughly 22.01 in. while a 27.5, or 650b is roughly 22.9 in. Mostly I was kinda kidding, I just figure it would look like a dirt bike, more #enduro bro haha.

 Nothing personal:-)

No, just take us off the topic we're talking about, and call out someone specially over posting their opinions, in an area for posting opinions.

Not sure if you can't smell it or not, but your shit stinks. Can we go back to talking about bikes now?

As far as the difference between 650 to 26, I think I'd still rather just run a beefier tire up front than go for a larger wheel size altogether. 2.35 front 2.2 rear works pretty awesome. Good for loading up the front wheel for traction and keeping the back end loose. Definitely going to have to upsize my tires for summer!

 Yawn.

Every motorbike as different size wheel, front always bigger
  • 1 0
Not every one. It's most common within Dirtbikes where they land very rear wheel heavy, and use the front to bash and climb over things. It's a much different technique than riding a pedal bike, that's for sure. Most street bikes will have a pretty similar tire diameter, with a fatter one in the rear. Also bare in mind they use MUCH thicker tires in the rear than they do on the front on a dirtbike, and the wheel arc that I mentioned does take place on a dirtbike, you just don't feel it as much as you rarely do corners and such that are as tight. Just my. 0.02.

Awesome video and insane riding! Its amazing how he's got a 140mm fork and on the jumps he moves 3/4 through the travel... Do these work similar to the boost valve fox systems?
