Jesse Melamed is looking fast this season after great results in Rotorua and Tasmania. After suffering a huge mechanical that ruined his race in 2017 Jesse will be looking for redemption this weekend in Madeira.

Being a pro is so much more than being quick on the bike.

 Madeira really is as good as it looks....Do yourself a favour. book a flight to this beautiful island and contact Freeride Madeira for as many days as you can. I went in September, 17 degrees and dusty with blue skies

 Damn, is incredible how EWS promotes destinations... never hear of anyone saying to go to ride there after a UCI DH WC...

 Can anyone tell me why they are not riding the Slayer?...

 The Slayer is a big mountain bike, a slightly more neutral suspension with 29" wheels is better equipped to handle the variety of tracks the EWS offers, rather than a bike that might do really well for just the steep rough tracks.

 7+ minute race run with pedaling thrown in the middle. The level of fitness required to do this all at pace is frankly shocking.
