This was Stage 3 of the Enduro for the first race of the Crankworx Summer Series. All the others were more technical trails but this one was the most physical and the longest.—Jesse Melamed
this guys is a real beast. How many of you were breathing at his rate? How many had increased heart rates. One should get their resting hear rate and then watch this with louder volume and get their heart rate at the end. Jesse may be having followers not only in his riding ability but also heart rate increase.... This was awesome
@JesseMelamed: i feel like enduro racers (such as yourself) would be better at scoping out lines in the middle of a run, since he's a dh racer he would definitely be best at scrubs and other dh techniques but you guys seem to change up your lines in the middle of a run to make it faster, for me as a dh rider that's insane i'm still surprised finn won to be honest...
Most impressed how often he at least attempted to get deep breaths in vs the shallow fast breaths. I never would even think to try in that kind of run to alter my breathing and just be happy to still be breathing
huge respect, but to me this looks like a XC track with jumps. Is this really the kind of track world class enduro rider would like to race on ? Where are the gnarly, technical and steep tracks ? It just makes me think if racing is about how fast you can go or how fast you can go on a certain kind of track.
so that little cut in the video.... crash, french line or my personal vote, dry-heave turned not so dry (happened to me at my last enduro on a long pedally stage but i'm also nowhere as fit and probably had heat stroke by that point in the weekend.)
i noticed a small sort of jostle, if you will, in the recording as well. I wont timestamp it but i noticed something as well. nothing that matters afaik. awesome riding mang cheers
I think the thing that impressed me the most is Jesse's line choice and surgical precision with line execution.
All those funky lines going off lips would not be easy to execute when you have little practice and are tired because you've been sprinting the whole stage.
Watching the footage I have no idea how to improve upon his run.
Great trail, and amazing riding. It's always humbling to watch how far down the trail he is looking to set up his runs. He doesn't "react" at all, just fluid riding.
Amazing riding Remy! But that was stressful just watching it... I'm making a mental note not to bother entering any enduro races in search of my lost youth!
Jealous MF'rs
Thanks for the "how it's supposed to be ridden" video.
(I pressed pause to let Jesse recover mid video...the pain was too much to listen to)
