You’ve seen it before, but not quite like this. Fresh from our mad lab after months of real world testing, we’re proud to announce the new deep coverage Maya. It’s available in Enduro Blue, retails at a price point that won’t infuriate your wife, and is loaded with all the tech you’d expect from Kali’s resident rocket scientist, Brad Waldron.

Enjoy, as Jeff Kendall-Weed heads to Santa Barbara to shred in the new Kali Maya helmet.

That used to be simply blue. Damn you Enduro!
  • 10 6
The color gives you extra protection only when enduroing... Razz
  • 13 4
Fun fact: The riding in the video, although brilliant(!), doesn't have much to do with Enduro racing...
  • 3 2
En-fluro... That worked better in my head than on screen.
  • 20 4
Oh good. A phenominal rider kills it in a free video for us to enjoy and the most "propped" discussion piece is the use of the word enduro in describing the helmets colour. I hope if I ever have the natural gifts and put in the time to ride like this, lay it on the line and hand it out to the masses the name of the colour of my helmet will be the most popular point of discussion. Were there more maturity and appreciation for riding other than semantics I would hope the top comment would be something like "dude is amazing", "Wish I could ride like this. Thanks for the edit" or even a creepy 'puberty is hitting me hard' comment like "excuse me while I clean my keyboard..." ...something...anything on the riding and not the use of "enduro" please. Great riding. Well done edit. Thank you.

With all overpriced compinents, apparel and bikes out there, i can no longer use the word free as you describe above. We are basically paying them to do stunts to entertain and inspire us...so yes we are in a possition to demand somehow.

Fair point. They are specifically advertising a helmet and as such a discussion of said helmet is fair game. IMO Jeff Kendall-Weed is becoming one of my favorite riders to watch in edits though and I would hope his rediculous riding would be more important than the use, or over-use, of the word enduro. I hope Kali was being ironic in that name.

Pinkbike please create an option that removes all comment sections from articles, I want to keep supporting your site but sometimes I accidentally scroll down here and start reading and then I wish the internet was never invented.

Looks like someone can't take a joke #soenduro
  • 3 0
 Well, that escalated fast...
  • 2 0
@snl1200 if you took some time reading you would realise what the joke was about. And considering that it is an ever growing scene I'd consider it quite a valid point; here: "...It’s available in Enduro Blue, retails...".

Chill squire. It is just cycling man. Good cycling indeed; fair point.

Everybody, just chill the heck out!
  • 1 0
I did indeed read that it is available in "enduro blue" and got the joke. It's my opinion that that dead horse has been flogged. Not a dig at anyone. As you were. All is chill.

 Let's drink.
  • 1 0
Want everything in this video, especially the skills...
  • 20 0
WOW, that is the definition of floating down the trail.
  • 14 3
i´m pretty sure that gopro mount is too much at the front of the helmet!! it will lean your helmet to your forehead... even in my bell super, the mount its in the middle of the helmet and it does!
  • 2 0
Is that an issue with the gopro? My camera mounts on my visor, and i forget it is there.
  • 1 0
I think it's a feeling that is different person to person.
  • 11 0
This dude sure can ride. Loving his style.
  • 5 0
For sure. This is where I'd like to be with my own riding in a few years. It's the type of riding I'd like to emulate. A beautiful blend of trials and trails. I much prefer watching this over a thousand whips, or any number of backflips. Those edits are more or less the same. This stands alone.
  • 10 0
"That didn't quite work out," lol.
  • 3 0
No, it didn't, but damn, he took it well.
  • 8 0
so if you buy this helmet, you can shred like him? SORTED
  • 5 0
 I'll take 3.
  • 6 0
I would like to have seen footage taken from the helmet to see how stable the mount is since it is one of the defining features of the helmet.
  • 1 0
Makes sense, I guess, but POV is largely for amateurs. 3rd person always makes for better viewing, but of course the setup and logistics are a PITA.
  • 8 0
WTF do you even call what he did a 0:38?
Amazing!

Made me want the new ibis hd3 don't recall who it was really a commercial for.
  • 5 1
"He was wearing a helmet? Good for him." An excellent advertisement for the HD3...
  • 7 1
I want commercials like this one.
  • 4 0
the helmet will make you do this
  • 3 0
 That's for sure.
  • 2 0
Been using the Kali Avana for a year or something and been happy with it. I was looking for something with some more protection as the Bell Super or the POC Trabec (which are higher priced). This one will do Smile
  • 5 0
That's just a 10'000$ superbike that just fell onto the rocks - no biggie!
  • 2 0
I'm sure he didn't pay retail, if that makes it any better? BTW- you've just touched on one of my biggest peeves. Riders that buy carbon bling bikes with ultralight wheels- and proceed to use it as an excuse to NOT ride that rock garden, or jump, or skinny. Nothing like shelling out for a better bike, only to make ones self a worse rider.
  • 5 4
Was it really necessary to name the location? There's been enough hiker/biker conflicts in the past when allot of out of town shuttlers were riding here..things have settled down in the last few years..would be nice to keep it that way...
  • 4 0
Super fine riding from the Kendall-Weed. Class dismissed!
  • 2 0
Whenever i say "Kali Maya", i think of this scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBIdcUxdgo0
  • 4 0
I'm just here for the Weed.
  • 3 0
That bike is soo dialed. As well as his riding. stoked!
  • 3 0
 Sweet riding on our trails!!
  • 1 0
How are conditions after the rain? And how is cold springs in comparison to Tunnel? Looking to try something else besides this and Knapps
  • 1 0
I've actually never ridden Tunnel but have ridden every other trail many times. Cold Springs is fun but the middle section is the definition of anti-flow. There is not dirt because there are rocks everywhere. Its still fun but not my favorite. San Ysidro is prob my favorite trail but if you're gonna pedal up then Jesusita, lower romero or the backcountry Camuesa and Little Pine are the best.
  • 1 0
And the conditions are the best its been in years.
  • 3 0
That was a sick video! Nice job Jeff, Kali and crew.
  • 1 0
I love seeing some hometown shredding. Can't wait to get back there from school!
  • 2 0
0:37 Where is the cam? Big Grin
  • 1 0
Great job guys! Love the floaty steady cam work, and the rock sequence at the beginning was insane!
  • 2 0
Available in Enduro S/M and Enduro L/XL sizes
  • 1 0
Enduro is 'one size fits all', bro.
  • 2 0
Santa Barbara, Good ol Tunnel Trail, Great video
  • 2 0
Nice riding, what is the name of the trail?
  • 2 0
I wonder if this is the infamous Tunnel trail in SB? If not where is it!
  • 2 0
It is mainly on tunnel. Parts are other rock formations around SB, lizards mouth I think
  • 1 0
The fact that he isn't wearing a full face on Tunnel makes me cringe. First time I rode that trail I went OTB 2 times. Burly shit. Even now on my DH bike that trail is a handful, even more so mentally. The madness never ends!
  • 3 0
 NICE
  • 1 0
love this video. great skill on a great bike. helmet looks cool too.
  • 1 0
Nice Jeff! I thought that was Jeff Lenosky in the beginning

  • 1 0
The last 5 seconds was relatable! Give me that helmet.
  • 1 0
 Sick, Jeff! Making flow happen.
  • 1 0
I guess I'd wna keep my name if it was weed.
  • 1 0
Not possible. it was all photoshopped... humbling skills.
  • 1 0
his style of riding is like a piece of art
  • 2 0
 part of it was tunnel
  • 1 0
I broke my collarbone at 1:14 on that trail Smile
  • 1 0
I'm more impressed with the bike and riding skill than the ugly lid.
  • 1 0
 Wow, nice!
  • 1 0
 What is the bike?
  • 1 0
 Ibis Mojo HD Generation 3
  • 1 0
 Brilliant!
  • 1 0
 So rad!
  • 1 1
Why is the peak 700ft long?
  • 1 0
The SB peaks are long ridges
  • 1 2
The peak has to be long to fill the bill for enduro. I am brimming with excitement at the size of the visor.
