The best MTB riders race on instinct. Why? Because understanding the science of speed doesn't always help them know when to go fast and when to slow down. They have to work it out themselves. I tried clicking the sign up for outside+ link on that article and it didn't do anything. Not that I would sign up, that's heresy. Does the link work for anyone else? Or is this whole thing actually just an amazing troll by pinkbike?
Hey everyone, here’s an idea… how about we do more than complain about the changes to pb? Maybe we can all pick a day a day to not visit pb every week? Maybe throwback Thursday until they at least engage us in a conversation about the planned changes?
I totally appreciate where you're coming from. But I mean, what's done is done and the plan now is to wring every cent out of the website until it's unusable. Well, that's my jaded but probably at least somewhat-correct interpretation.
I think one major issue is timing, we have mostly moved on, they should have these out within a week of the event, like every one else, not 6 months after!
I love that they included it; racing at that level is SO freakin' hard! They are so committed and I think we don't see enough of the sadness and frustration that's a part of it; it's not mostly podiums and champagne, it's grinding and heartbreak and still going the next time.
