Thanks a lot, Shimano. When my ladyfriend got wind of this this morning, she decided to celebrate by sending me out to the garage to bleed her brakes, install new cables and housing, and do a full fork teardown.

@christinachappetta: Yeah, I'm only pretending to complain. My goal for servicing her bike is that everything works perfectly, while for my own bike it's just that everything . . . works. Besides, she does a lot more for me than I could hope to repay with bike maintenance.

The best thing about our sport is it brings people together. Most people on the trails are so helpful and our bikes instantly give you something to chat about on the climbs etc. I have been riding for 20 years and its great to see so many more women on mountain bikes in this time, however, women have always been welcome and encouraged during that time and i have found people are seen as riders first, rsther than any physical or cultural feature. Lets hope this progression keeps going and our amazing sport is enjoyed by as many people as possible in the future
