Downhill is not just about riding the gnarliest, steepest, or wide-open track. It's about trying to be the fastest possible everywhere on any given track. Including flatter and tighter terrain, this is where you will build your skills and speed.

Located just outside of Canberra, is the home of Kye’s DH testing and training track that he’s been clocking laps on since he was young. It’s a track that’s relatively flat but fast, tight in sections and then some good flow meaning you have to pump hard and make sure to carry speed well out of each and every corner.

bigquotesI have been riding this track since I was young and have done the majority of my time on a Dh bike on this track! Also my main Dh testing and training location. Fast, tight and flowy top section into some really steep chutes. I love it because it has a good mix of different styles of track, fast pumping, corners and steeps and you get some rad views over Canberra.Kye A'Hern

Like all things, video and Kyes riding style do not do justice to how rowdy Blue Range is. There is some wild stuff out there.

Nice little vide but yeah, it didn't really showcase how amazing that place is.

The moto style brake thing is interesting. I run right hand rear as I have a road riding background (though did have a shitty bmx when I was 12…) but everyone in Australia seems to run their MTB moto and they look at my setup and ask me how I don’t throw myself over the handlebars on a motorbike? Does anyone know why North Americans/ Europeans run right hand rear? Is it just because the cabling looks tidier?

I think it depends on which side of the road you drive on. most people who don't understand braking use mainly their rear brake and your supposed to signal turns with your arm that closest to the inside of the road. if you're signaling with your left hand, your rear brake will be on the left side. If you use your right hand for signaling then its on the left side. Its all just a speculation and my other guess is because Australia is upside down.

@Hofe2234: yeah this is the right answer

Might want to trim that lasso of a front brake hose.

in Oz, it doesn't matter if you're a pro or just a muppet, LH= rear brake, RH=Front Brake. And now it has a name—moto—even better! THIS IS THE WAY!

Still no 29er RUX? Not even for sponsored riders?

The UR team has a 29er version now. Kye had it at Cannonball a few weeks ago. This must have been filmed before that.

 fuck 29ers

Suntour is crap. And this is the proof. If you care so less about the develpoment of your DH fork that in 2022 you don't offer a 29er one, there's no way that they're working well. They used to be bad and this can not change with this little amount of effort they'er putting in.
