Video: Lousa Postponed - Fox Asks What's Next for DIALED & the DH World Cup

Mar 18, 2020
by Sarah Moore

With Lousa postponed and so much uncertainty surrounding the 2020 UCI DH World Cup, what is next for Dialed and the World Cup? Jordi and the video team rush back to the USA before the border closes and ask you what content you want them to provide, that doesn't involve air travel.

Could do a video on the history of fox, Jordi can walk through all the different iterations of product lines over the last couple of decades. I'll even drive up some SARA for the crew haha.

An episode on knobs would be good....... errrrr...... that came out wrong.

I wanna see Jordi shred tbh...

This isn’t a bad idea! Maybe once we can leave our houses well look into it.

@foxfactory you mentioned it last year in a reply to one of my comments that you had a dialled episode in the pipeline about the new twin shock cannondale, even thou they pulled the pin on this project is that still something you can release a video on and your thoughts about the idea they were going for working so closely with you guys at Fox ?

@Cordijortes: Can you do a video series on Grip damper service, Fit4, and Grip2. Also explain to people the importance of normal fork/ shock maintenance / up keep.... Maybe rear shocks too and why you use nitrogen in the IFP camber.... I want your take on it all from one mechanic to another; Thank you !

Is there any other rider besides Loris Vergier that you would make a soundboard for based upon his description of what the suspension is doing on the course? Do you know if there is an French to English Translation of this soundboard? LOL

lvsb.tomburridge.com

Seriously: Can you spend a little time on how riders communicate their suspension needs, issues characteristics best to you? What details help the pros to trouble shoot or adjust suspension on bikes?
  • 3 0
I think bam bam bam and pop pop pop are universal language, there is no translation.
  • 1 0
 @Yaan:

Haha. I was messing around like it would make more sense if it was in French and that is why I couldn't understand his descriptions. Love watching that kids though. He is a favorite and what a character.

 Thankfully there’s only one Loris.

@foxfactory Maybe some videos of dialed helping out local riders of...you know....normal skill levels or people from your shop. Get some local shredders on camera and help'em out.

Or a Fox HQ....make it happen. Jordi can do all of the Loris sounds since he's so familiar.

Again, good idea. But we can’t leave the house or get into the office

Does smothering yourself in float fluid really cure corona?
  • 1 0

  • 1 0
I think you mean tequila and lime juice

We want to hear about the "top secret" fox drivetrain that is definitely not in the works

Trying to answer the ultimate question: from all of jordi‘s experience, what would be a good middleground for the „perfect“ compression and rebound damping curves and how to get there (midvalve vs. basevalve, piston design, stacks...).
  • 2 0
 No such thing.
  • 4 0
Jordi..., "So hot right now". Like if a Unicorn and Henry Rollins had a baby.
  • 1 0
Wow so you‘re fooked up right now

YES DIALED!!!! MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!!! IM IN HOUSE QUARANTINE RIGHT NOW BUT I DONT EVEN CARE IF YOU KEEP MAKING VIDEOS! Yes, all caps. Deal with it!

Foxes are so important to avoid the Lyme disease. They are predators of mices and rats carrying the disease.

The Lyme disease which is infecting and destroying the lives of some of us.

So Fox should divert a percentage of its profits to that cause.

And Corona and Lyme have something in common, which is linked to the destruction of the ecosystems:

www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/mar/18/tip-of-the-iceberg-is-our-destruction-of-nature-responsible-for-covid-19-aoe

"Rodents and some bats thrive when we disrupt natural habitats. They are the most likely to promote transmissions [of pathogens]. The more we disturb the forests and habitats the more danger we are in"

Some intel on the Fox 38 and DHX3

Creator series to shooting dialed. Heck yeah enjoy jake! Hopefully no races are missed. Love jakes video style can’t wait to watch.
  • 1 0
@Cordijortes How about a vid on setting sag and show how well / bad a bike can perform when the sag is off and the rider just adds or takes out some air instead of adjusting the compression and rebound dials.
  • 2 0
Not a bad idea....when things open up a bit maybe we’ll do some trail side tuning
  • 1 0
Although outside the mission of 'Dialed' Could you consider doing a video on suspension tuning for riders under 120lbs. Not just twisting knobs but basic valving suggestions, etc...

Just stay home and eat everything in sight.

lets see more insides, get in deep with the marz stuff release 2021 product info and get deep into the details of whatever that may be

I'd like to know why the stanchions (and axle to crown length) are ~10 mm longer than needed (stated) on the current 36.
  • 1 0
Bottom out on Fox is not end of the stanchion, i.e. travel = 160mm, full stanchion length should be ~170mm. It's just how they do it....
  • 1 0
@mybaben: i think he means why is 160 36 10mm longer than a 160mm Lyric, it does mess with bike geo a bit
  • 1 0
Thanks for doing this even with the limited footage. Loved the series last year and was looking forward to more. Hopefully soon enough.

What is the best setup for doing track stands in your garage? Or wheelies in your driveway?

We need social-distancing bike setup tips.
  • 1 0
What do you do when a rider complains that "my fork is too harsh." Yet the compression adjustment is fine (mostly backed out), sag is correct, and rebound seems good?
  • 2 0
Tell them to hit the gym
  • 2 0
I can't wait to see Loris and Jordi to gather
  • 1 0
what do you braaaaap beh behhhhh konkonkonkon?!?!??
  • 1 0
Want to see more of the Testcamp in Lousã, of testing the nur 40 and new shocks with the syndicate, Commencal and Atherton
  • 1 0
Jordi and Loris split a bottle of whiskey. Leave the camera rolling. Upload the result in its entirety. Profit?
  • 1 0
I love Loris, but I feel like Jordi would drink the Whiksey and Loris would ask for some French Wine haha.
  • 1 0
@bikekrieg: Right. I don't think the Frenchies drink proper whiskey. Wink
  • 2 0
@mybaben: that's what I want to see. He'd be hammered in no time, give us the next generation of suspension sound bites.
  • 2 0
 Genius
  • 1 0
Everyone watches dialed for one reason, to watch Jordi and Marshy argue, just do that.
  • 1 0
Jordi + Gwin + So Cal dirt and Fox suspension. Prime ingredients. Any outcome will be an interesting outcome.
  • 1 0
I think we could make this happen....
  • 1 0
A video explaining suspension settings and I don't mean clickers. True settings, shim stack changes and stuff.
  • 1 0
How about step through basic servicing of some of your products from over the last 5 years. Possibly set up tips.
  • 2 0
Just put out a bunch of outtakes for Jordi and Loris.
  • 1 0
How about some videos not on suspension, but on the fox apparel/gear?
  • 1 0
I believe they are two separate companies. I am sure someone can chime in.
