I have been riding my bike for many years. That has given me the chance to meet people of all ages and sizes, some fast and others slow, etc ... in all these years, I have never been so surprised by the talent of a little boy of only 10 years old. I leave you the full trail so you can tell me what you think.
Back in the day I used to go up that trail it was more XC than DH. Gracias Marcelo por compartir, un orgullo ver tanto talento. CHAMO sigue así y pronto te veremos con un casco Red Bull???
Wow, that´s so awesome! Incredible what this 10 year old can do! And a little feedback for Marcelo... for my taste you went a little too far with the motion blur effect. It made it a little hard to watch. Otherwise... nice video!
@hitmansam: Had a massive accident 4 years ago. 300k medical fees were all covered by my health insurance. I moved from new zealand "free healthcare". The treatment and quality of care was much better than NZ.
@crockpot2001: Yeah, if you have nice job and related insurance 'plan' you tend to be OK and the hospitals feel more like the business class lounge in the airport. If you're self-employed/half-employed/doing anything interesting you can be royally f'ed over....if you crash you scream at people not to call an ambulance and you go home and YouTube 'how to do surgical stitches at home'.
@twopoint6khz: it's paid for at a small amount per person through tax because the pooling of risk over a whole working population is far lower that in a individualised model. It's the reason that the amount of your tax that goes towards the NHS is far less than if you had to pay privately to have access to all the things the NHS offers.
And as a bonus you don't have a population where people don't have to die or live in misery for want of health insurance. A healthy society is good for everyone. Seems like a good deal to me...
C@tb927: Un true. I'm self employed with average income and good coverage. Covered CA makes most insurance affordable. If you are low income Medi Cal will give you top notch insurance for little to no money. I have friends on it.
@crockpot2001: No, I'm self employed. We are enrolled through Covered CA. They subsidies insurance costs and make it very affordable. If you are low income, Medi Cal will provide great coverage at little to no cost. I have friends on it.
@hitmansam: My initial comment was of general interest. Venezuela suffers hyper inflation and a lot of economic problems. Maybe some ignorance as I don't know how health care works in every country.
@downhiller900sl: Don't worry, this kid is the grandson of Venezuela's dictator Nicolás Maduro, that's why you see a motorcycle at the trailhead and 6 or 7 bodyguards along the trail. It's a 10 y/o kid on a +$10k bike bought with narco and minerals smuggling moneys + the lives of 30+ million Venezuelans... the kid has talent, alright, but that's his real story... The only way you'll see Marcelo going to Venezuela to ride with this kid, it's because he was paid to do so by the new rich class...
I would love LOVE to tire that trail omg it looks so fun! But idk about going to Venezuela rn. I hope that that kid gets the support he needs to maybe get a career on this field!
this trail is in a somewhat safe part of Caracas. If you're really interested there are several options that can give you a nice deal. Although I would at Merida for more natural/adventure/bikepacking type of riding on the some of the highest mountains of our country.
It's pretty weird we actually get a lot of high end stuff, including 12K XC superbikes for which there are actual legit nationwide distributors. I worked closely with Trek. There's algo toothpaste and soap lol. What's not here you get it from Amazon, Newegg, Chain Reaction, Jenson, Overstock, Best Buy, plus shipping and that's even the basis of some retail business. The fact that now USD cash has become a defacto currency has helped, but being unofficial, there's no small bills nor coins, and lack of change slows transactions.
Anyway, fked up hellish government makes business owners run around the bush a lot in order to work.
the big shortages are over now, the economy is basically "dolarized". Not that it's not still a socialist hell, but just for reference the biggest Scott dealer or one of the biggest Scott dealers in South America is in Caracas and they distribute bikes all over south america.. the economy is absolutely f*cked tho..
Sick riding, definitely not afraid of the jumps!
