Matt Hunter has become one of the most idolized free riders on the planet, pushing the boundaries of adventure and exploration. In 2017 Race Face is excited to welcome Matt back to the RF Team - coming full circle from Race Face helping Matt get started as a pro way back in 2003. We hit the road with Matt to explore BC's interior Monashee Mountains out of Sol Mountain Lodge; taking in the breathtaking views, riding epic alpine singletrack, and sipping on some lakeside beverages in his first project back in the Race Face family!

 Genuine question: Is there a rhyme or reason to how sponsorship deals work out? - in the sense of: Matt Hunter is sponsored by Specialized, who also make cockpit components, wheels, clothes etc. So Raceface come along and say "We want to sponsor you" ... what does Specialized say with regard to him no longer using their bars, stem (possibly wheels ... didn't get a good look), clothes etc? Is it just "Well, we'll pay you less now" or "If you ditch us for those components it looks like ours aren't as good!"

I've just always wondered how they work it out. I mean ... I'll never find out through experience that's for sure.

 Met Matt on a bike/camping trip last summer in Kamloops. He had a big crew of dudes out shuttling harper with their polaris RZR's. We all ended up going for some laps in what was probably a 20 rider train and having beers afterwards.

Solid dude, stoked to see he's keeping in the spotlight! (I had no idea who he was before I met him, but my buddies were freaking out)

 It is more than money as the reason for Matt going back to Race Face. I'm certain it is about personal connections... It's all about who you know and how you know them. Also, Race Face has exploded since being taken over from receivership... Their products have progressively become better and better.

 Race Face has some money behind them after being purchased by Fox Factory last year. Fox Factory is a publicly traded company (FOXF) I'm up 55% with FOXF this year. As a shareholder I say "f*ck yeah!" to bringing Hunter to the team!
