Video: Melamed, Gauvin and Lanthier Nadeau Ride the New Altitude on the North Shore in 'A Product of the Environment'

Sep 9, 2020
by Rocky Mountain

The North Shore has always been important to us. Whether it's the technical trails, the generations of riding culture, or the incessant rain that we've all grown fond of, the aspects of mountain biking here have helped to inform our product and identity for nearly 40 years. Jesse Melamed on Mount Fromme, Andréane Lanthier Nadeau on Mount Seymour, and Rémi Gauvin on Cypress Mountain.

Three mountains, three riders.

bigquotesI started my EWS career on the Altitude, I won my first EWS on the Altitude, and now I’ve taken this all-new version to the top step of the podium. The Altitude has always been the bike for me, and now that here’s multiple wheel sizes offered, updated geometry, and a ton of attention to detail, I think it’ll once again be a crowd favourite amongst riders everywhere. It’s got everything you need to accomplish your riding goals, and for me that means race winning, lap smashing, all-around mountain bike fun!Jesse Melamed

 Thats one dope edit!

 That was awesome.
2:04... now that is a rock roll, I got nervous just watching!
  • 7 10
Where on Seymour is that roll?!?
  • 4 7
 @jaydawg69: ok, but seriously where?
  • 12 10
@thetruejb: you think it's a good idea to give directions on a public website for some Joey to go and do and hurt himself? Give your head a shake.
  • 7 0
@thetruejb: That rock roll is not on Seymour.
  • 2 0
Was that rock in the 2001 Kranked ??
  • 6 0
@tonestar: I have it on good authority that rock roll is on the moon. It was when I rode it!
  • 21 3
@jaydawg69: I think its fair to ask considering it very well could be a legal named trail that I just haven't ridden yet.

If its an unsanctioned trail then I don't expect to be told but am I supposed to just know every feature on the shore and whether or not its sanctioned? It's an innocent enough question.

@thetruejb: a move like that isn't going to be sanctioned in NV. Mountain biking is about adventure and not to have everything spoon fed to you.
  • 37 3
@jaydawg69: I had no clue, I'm new to the area and don't have knowledge of the inner workings of NV's trail network politics. I've seen stuff out there that seems just as if not more gnarly than that. New to the area and was just inquisitive.

I hope you get to a place where you don't have to be negative and combative in every comment section you participate in.

Your "holier than thou", enduro-douche attitude is what pushes so many people and especially women away from the sport.

@thetruejb: good... less people in the sport the better and I'm combative because of comments like you originally had. Time to use some common sense.

@thetruejb: The trails will find you when your ready.

That roll is not on Seymour as the video would lead you to believe. In Coquitlam there's a large park called Mundy Park, you can see it on Google maps, anyway thats where it is.
  • 4 2
@Tmackstab: is wise and right. @jaydawg69 isn't being #inclusive. Munday Park is where all the beat instabangers are located

@rebelsandwich giving away the direction details to the joeys.... he accidentally messaged me and then blocked me. Class act.

best thing rocky did was this trio of rippers
  • 22 3
Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, These three are indeed spectacular riders, but may I point you in the direction of Wade, Brett, Richie, Andreas, Thomas, Gretchen, Leslie, Geoff, Sabrina, Marie-Helen, Karsten, Karl.....The list goes on, These three are literally standing on the shoulders of Mtb giants.

@onawalk: LOL i wasn't saying that whoever rocky sponsored before didn't matter, i meant they're awesome as a trio together, they're killing it and it's nice to see that rocky has kept them for the number of years they have.
  • 2 0
Froriders were actually the original trio of Rocky rippers but I hear what you're saying.

Was waiting for a Wade cameo. Was at least hoping for him to come crashing out of the foliage screaming "get off my lawn."

Great Vid RM and the riding was exceptional! Remi's style in the air! ALN's wheelies and hitting Dynamite roll! and Jesse making railing banked corners out of nothing on a straight trail. So great!
  • 4 1
Just wanted to point out those are 3 young enduro racers throwing down with speed, style, and skill. No wonder XC is dead. Mountain biking has evolved into something so much better.
