Man when you hear her hyperventilating and there is still 1min of treacherous riding in the rocks/roots... You understand how she is both thrashing the course but also surviving the last bits ! Really impressive, I can't imagine the level of skills and lucidity you need to have to tackle a track like this at that pace !
Congrats again Pompon !!! You ROOOOCKK

These POV's of the track really show just how burly this track is. So rad to see less "bike park" tracks this season and getting back to burly technical riding.

@NorCalNomad: Yes, exactly. And still people were complaining about some man-made features added to the track... Clearly those men putting these features did not have flowiness and mellowness into consideration, which is a good thing Wink

Yes that was an excellent POV run with the breath soundtrack!
  • 3 2
At some point the skill stops, and it's 100% pure heart! Respect!!

Ummm i think theres something wrong with this clip......it seems to be working in my country!!!!!!

Damn that track must be brutal on the arms!

Seeing her take a second to prepare herself to lift her bike over her head for just a little bit was very revealing of the physical toll at the end. Honestly impressed the top finishers don't just lay on the floor when it's a track with nearly no rest periods/connecting flats

Finally we get to see full attack on that course instead of training runs. What a difference!!! Absolutely sick Pompom!!!!

Are there geographically unrestricted winning runs replays available anywhere? Or VPN is the only way? Btw. the magnificent polish public TV has bought transmission rights and never actually transmitted DH, I lack words to describe it, probably they bought the whole package and shown only XC...
  • 3 0
thats UCI's idiocy, not the polish TV network. Doesn't make it any less stupid.
  • 5 0
You can find the whole race on youtube

imagine being that pinned and breathing in 2 stroke chainsaw smoke. Airhorns and cowbells instead please.

You have a point. Like the TdF guys having to suck moto fumes uphill. The sound is fun though.
  • 4 0
@twozerosix: Always wondered why TDF hasn't converted to using all electric cars and bikes yet. The stages are all less than 120 miles, so range isn't an issue, you get less noise, no fumes, and I'm sure the gas bills for that many vehicles over that many days is significant.

Just imagine the carnage when fans at the Tour de France start wielding chainsaws instead of signs for the tv cameras.
  • 4 0
There was a chainsaw at the Giro this year and it confused the journalists and commentators. I just think the 5 or 6 that Myriam rode by seems excessive.

So cool to see the other riders who just got pushed lower on the podium celebrating with her at the end.... what a cool sport and environment MTB is, the way love for a sport and competition should be.
  • 9 2
Absolutely killer run! Ridiculous talent there. Congrats Pompom!

On another note, I can't stand the chainsaws. How did we let that become a thing? lol
  • 5 0
You'll be in our hearts forever Stevie Smith, even without the chainsaws.
  • 8 0
Perfectly placed cam. Can it get better than that?
  • 5 0
A drone following her the whole way down would be the dream

 @PauRexs: and available globally...

Wow. Absolutely stunning run. I really didn't realize just how nuts that track was until I saw this footage. Being able to remember every line like Pom Pom did... and then actually stay on them... is other worldly. Incredible talent, and so well deserving of being world champ!
  • 6 0
That may have been my favorite POV of all time. The gnarliness, the willpower and the stoke at the end. Unreal.
  • 6 0
What a run, and what a track to win a world champs!
  • 5 0
 Amazing run!

Also shitty that except for the top two turns, what we saw on TV doesn't start until 2:15.

your POV shows not just how strong, determined and skilled you are but it shows this track as the nastiness most extreme Huck to flat or massive holed track ever. Just crazy in every way I was thinking most riders would fracture bones in arms and hands just holding on for dear life. Massive respect MN and your crew.

Why were some riders allowed a gopro and others not? What's the criteria?
  • 4 1
Whoever greased the right palms enough.
  • 2 1
I'm in the US and whenever I go to Redbull.tv it says I cannot watch the replay due to geo location restriction. I wish I could watch the whole race!

Check the comments from one of the older posts. There‚Äôs a link to where you can watch it

It's on YouTube mens and women's

 That was rapid!

 Vrooom vrooom vrooom......
  • 1 1
is that a 2.4 or 2.6 front tyre?

curious how many dh riders ride 2.6 upfront / back
  • 6 0
My understanding is none. I think all (at least at the pointy end) are on 2.4 (2.5 max) tires.
  • 4 0
I think 2.6 are avoided at this level because when they lean hard into the fast smooth corners 2.6s will fold over unless they are pumped up to a point that is detrimental elsewhere.
  • 2 0
 Slaying it !!!
  • 2 0
 Geoblocked
  • 1 0
 I wish I ride like a girl !!
  • 1 0
Absolutely incredible! Huge congratulations to Myriam!
