Man, at the rate suspension technology is improving these days, its only a matter of time before the forks are as good as the Bomber 66RC I had 15 years ago!

Still running it on my Trans Dirtbag and it’s smooth as silk, perfect rebound, and great compression adjustability.

Keep your sweet memory, don´t try that fork just in case

Yes bomber 66rc was good, but heavy, but also sure not as good as you remember?

@aljoburr: Had 3 of those 66 back in the days, a 66R '05, 66RC2X '06 and finally a 170mm 66RC2X '07, which to this day, remains the best frickin fork I've ever ridden, although my current Pike is pretty darn good, too.

 @audioshnoll: Hear-hear for the old Bombers. 66 RC2X, 55 RC3 Ti, and 66 RC3 Ti were incredible for their day. That old 66 RC3 Ti weighed 2.7 kg (6 lbs) www.bikeradar.com/reviews/components/forks/suspension-forks/marzocchi-66-rc3ti-fork-review

Modern Fox air shock damping and smoothness is amazing given the weight loss; a 36 Float 180 GRIP 2 is 1.9 kg (4.25 lbs).

@audioshnoll: Marzocchi always had the best damping, & that is why Fox are as good now, But is no question that older bombers were really good, but if you want a better fork than you can get now may be try linkage?

I really should find the inspiration to finish this off, anyone got a really light shim stack, to use on a front,
rear shock?

@aljoburr: Why do you say that Fox damping is good because of Marzocchi?
The awesome Bomber dampers were open bath.
Fox went to cartridge dampers long ago, though their open bath forks back during the mid 2000's were very good.

@chrod: Marzocchi Designed the Grip damper, the mistake they made was getting Suntour to make crappy cartridge that used to suck fluid past seal head on a non rebuild able damper that looked like a rear door dampining rod & about the same reliability!

I was just thinking that same thing. You can probably count on a cameo from Jordi to be worth at least double the hits an article would normally pull in.

  • 8 0
There are...other solutions to feel “stiff” on the climbs.

@BillyBoy0519: Just have a photo of Jordi stuck on your steerer top cap.

2021 product? I am so ready for 2021 anything at this point.

I usually wait a year to see the feedback from a product so it looks like I'm getting my 38 in 2022...
  • 1 0
Would be nice to go into hibernation & wait for 2021, but you would miss all the fun that will happen next?
Will this be over soon or is this just the start of something bigger?

I have the pleasure the building a orbea occam last year and the bike works so good. The geometry is perfect. Fox plus orbea occam is a dream. One of best bikes in Enduro circuit shore!
Nice job orbea.

And we need also a 100% downhill bike orbea!

"We managed to deliver comfortable setup which is also race-ready".
So i buy this 2021 product, set it up like Pro-EWS riders and it will be comfortable for me? I have doubts, i think "comfortable" for average Joe is not "comfortable" for pro fit rider spending 5 times a week in gym.. ... Big Grin

I ride using Viagra so my 36 is stiff enough. Little blue stickers too
