 Yeah if you're into BS reality TV show contests, I bet it looks great. LOL It must be popular since Pinkbike is now embedding the videos with auto-play on the front page to artificially inflate the viewership numbers.

 S1 to S2 they certainly seemed to have acted on the constructive feedback, hoping for another step up on what was already great viewing. After the results from some of the previous contestants now in EWS this is a legit platform too.

 I love PB Academy and not afraid to say it! My only question is when are they going to open it up to the over 45 has been riders? Look, I'm only getting fatter & slower... if they don't snatch me up soon, I won't be worth snatching up!

 Don’t get me wrong, this looks pretty good but I’m still waiting for 40+ E biker Pinkbike academy. Sponsored by Yeti and instead of tips from a mechanic the contestants could give tax, legal and healthy gum advice. Bring on the wireless drivetrains!!

 @scott-townes: If you haven't noticed, they are not hosted on youtube but rather on their own media player. So there is no monetary benefit for them to "auto-play to artificially inflate viewership numbers".

 @PawnSacrifice: I'm with you. I liked S1, the challenges were kinda hit or miss but I liked most of the contestants. S2 was a huge improvement in challenges, however there was just one person I couldn't jive with (at least with the way they were presented), and that was the toughest bit for me.

Hopefully less focus on the drama for S3, more focus on the progression and mental game. And no more elimination, although I bet that won't be the case. I wanna see people learn and apply. I wanna see redemption runs and sportsmanship (sportspersonship?). Not everyone can win, but everyone can GROW.

 I really don't understand this embedded autoplay video that Pinkbike has been doing lately 1. It autoplays with sound and is super annoying because you didn't expect sound. 2. It autoplays without sound. You have to turn on sound and go back to the beginning to hear it. All this would be solved by allowing users to just click play.

 Yeah, I don't like this either and prefer to have it removed from the home page. I'm sure people who would like to see the video will be able to find it. But I'm not interested and find it annoying to get it right on top of the home page. Or could you create an opt-out option, similar to what you have for people who are allergic to e-bike content. Third option, get the academy people on e-bikes. Then I'll engage the e-bike filter and it will all be good. So many ways to solve this, you'd almost have to try really hard to not solve it.

 @brianpark: There's a setting in my profile to disable autoplaying videos which is checked to disable autoplaying video so why is there an autoplaying video as soon as the site loads?

 I didn't mind it at first but having to keep hitting stop got to me (there's a part in my brain that can't just ignore it and let it play). In Firefox you can disable autoplay... Settings > Privacy & Security > Autoplay - just enter the URL. It still shows the video in place and you can click to play. Not sure what it does for ads and animated whatnot.

That's one browser, sure others will be the same.

 @PawnSacrifice: Using the Vivaldi browser here. I already have autoplay set to "block" but it just runs. Maybe everyone who DOES WANT to have the academy videos running on the home page can comment here. In which case the opt-out function would be a good solution, similar to the e-bike filter. Otherwise it seems to me there is no point keeping it there.

edit: Just reloaded the front page and the video doesn't run anymore. Is this the case for everyone? If so, thank you Pinkbike for solving this!

 It would actually be pretty cool if they were sponsored by some smaller manufacturers. Part of the reality of being a sponsored rider is needing to ride what they give you and not openly complain about the performance when it's only 95% as good as what the other riders are running.

Personally, I would struggle with that. 90% of new bike parts that I try are absolute garbage for one reason or another (usually quality control and/or durability).

 While the formats have been kinda funny over the first few seasons, can't argue with the winners. I've loved following Evan and Flo's success on the EWS circuit. And even Evan's move to Devinci, seemed like a natural progression to a team he loves. Looking forward to the next crew Smile

 Would not have open this post without that anoying auto-play on the main page about that show. I get that some people like it and I'm ok with it but I just don't give a **** about reality shows of any sort. Please at least remove the auto-play from the main page for those who don't care.

 So stoked for Cam McCaul to be part of this. Back to his roots. For you young bucks out there you should watch Drop in TV. The OG reality tv mountain bike show. It's been a very quiet exit from Jason Lucas. I guess his poor ankles couldn't take any more huck to flats and he decided to head back to I the Maholo My Dude crew.

 Winners are based on what their sponsors are looking for. They would have to line up two teams or a team that had space for two riders. That seems unlikely.
