Interesting to see that Miranda's Strava QOM from her hot lap didn't last long--it got taken two days ago by Andréane Lanthier Nadeau, whose Strava bio says "I will hunt your QOM's down." Indeed.

Pretty cool to see claire pull it back after that near crash/mistake.
Claire also works a 9-5 job at Chromag these days so she doesn't really get as much time on the bike as these full-time pros,,, shes great to watch ride and she has one of the best styles for a chic on a mtn bike for sure! ;0

Do a series of “Joe Schmo” rider hot laps along with all the pros. Have an entry contest or lottery system and regular PB readers show up with their bikes. Get the same opportunity to suss out the lines, and then send it. I know there’s a Strava board, but it’d be fun to see just your average rider do the same type of PB vid.

There's tons of videos like this out there already, its basically the entire marketing plan for GoPro. Just search youtube for "gopro" and the name of the trail you want to see, any trail sufficiently popular trail should have hits. The fewer the views, the more likely you're getting an average rider.

Hey Eriv, Yes its a chain device we have in the works. We only have 3D printed molds at the moment but are in the process of having rubber production STFU's made, this will help control chain slap, frame damage, and chain noise so your drive chain will be silent. Not going to be that exciting going forward, you only have had 5 people do it and you started with toppp pros aka now only top pros will have even remotely comepetitive times!

These Hotlap videos are great content don't get me wrong. They encourage people to get out on the trails and help with line choice. But I cant help think that they might be having a negative impact on the trails at the same time from people watching these videos then trying to re-create what they've watched. Increased traffic on the trail too.

I enjoy watching these videos, and I'm all for people getting out on their bikes, but I'm a bit concerned with how much Credit Line in particular has deteriorated since these videos started coming out.

I'm not a trail building expert or anything but I think credit is pretty well done and seems to be fairly robust. Sure there's some widening and strava lines being taken but I rode it this summer for the first time in a few seasons (I don't live on the coast anymore) and didn't notice any damage. I think the builders do an awesome job in squamish keeping up with maintenance. Best trails in the world!

This is happening up in Revelstoke too, and it has nothing to do with Pinkbike. It just has to do with people looking for the fastest line and not respecting the design of the trail.

Trails evolve as they get ridden. Always have and unless we start paving them, always will. Some evolution is for the better, some isn't. If the community pitches in and helps with maintenance and helps keep the trail running well, then we're golden.

Buy a trail pass, volunteer, encourage commercial companies to donate back, and be mindful of your impacts.
